I honestly think he also fails the "interesting" test.
[Spoilers] PB12 Lurker Thread: Where everyone blames the mapmaker

Yes, that does seem rather suspect, though I'm sure someone said the same about my debacle-of-a-start in pbem 46. It won't lose him the game. And it's the map-maker's fault anyway.
Video looking at the starts for each player, and how that factored into their leader and civ picks. As usual, I always talk too much and go on for too long, but hopefully this is interesting to some of you. Thanks to Krill for providing the Worldbuilder save file to make this possible.

They only notice the one thing you get wrong and not the 1000 things you got right. It's why I stopped doing mapping in other games. Also 'cause I'm horrible and don't have enough time.

Perhaps it is arrogant of us, but since PBEM1 a lot of players have signed up and gradually improved our civ skills (and I'm including myself in that number). We're judging people who have just started an attempt to climb to the top of a mountain when we aren't necessarily even near the top ourselves. And if I'm rambling it's because it's past 2AM and I don't want to write an essay any more, and am procrastinating between writing sentences, but can't go to sleep until it's finished
Actually, I meant the greens in 11 actually are doing pretty well with an obvious exception or two, smart guys. Meanwhile, here, we have the Unlearning.
