[SPOILERS] Spoiler-Thread for WW40

Just as an fyi: I've sent Marcus Aurelius a PM as well as an email. I really hope it is a fake-account of someone wanting to play incognito and not just someone being missing forever now, destroying my game in the process.

Could ask for a sub maybe? Extend day a bit and hold off torture a while.

Good idea. I had to think about if that does not influence the game and it does, because they know that he is really not around and not just quietly lurking. But if a sub can be found that slight give-away is better than the alternative.

Anyhow, if there is no one subbing in, I will most likely make MA the lynch, no matter the voting. Sucks, but having two players killed off at once would be even more unbalancing I think. Do we have precedence for a situation like that?

We've had players disappear before, but never modkilled in place of the lynch. I think that taking away the player's lynch is more damaging than the distortive effect of losing 2 players. I mean, given MA is basically a non presence anyway at that point, it's basically equivalent to just taking away the players' right to lynch.

And look at that, they chose BRick. I find it funny that none of the candidates when it was a 3-way tie chose to short circuit it by unvoting.

MA is following the bog standard "newbie signs up, flakes out, gimmie lynch" pattern that happens in at least 50% of all games.

This day has gone in some really interesting directions.

When I was tortured, I was told that I know pain and scorn, I have suffered that before. Because I endured that, instead of being blinded by the pain I can now truly see, so I have had another vision to prophesy about, that one of the ones who wants to hurt us all is novice. I assume this fits in as some latent power that I just didn't get to know about pre-game?

Anyways, now because of that I know that novice is the way to go. So I guess thank you guys for torturing me?

fixed: [novice

FFS, when will people learn that "No quoting the Role-PM" means just that - no quoting the role pm? Especially BRick of all people!

(I don't have the pms, so I'm not saying that he has no roles, but that either quoting it exactly or pretending to do so creates a mechanical out-of-game way of checking someone's claim.)

Personally, whether or not that is true, I would reprimand or punish him for quoting (or pretending to quote) the literal text of the pm.

If I were torturer, I think I'd speak up if I knew BRick was innocent.

Better to immediately get novice lynched, and I'd gamble on there being at least some protective powers available in the night. Jailer would be fine, no night-action to interrupt...

So....either torture works differently than I think, or torturer wants to stay hidden rather than save a Brick, or BRick is guilty.

Sure its possible. But if we're going to be playing the odds, regardless of any scum-tells, it's objectively more likely that Brick is scum (2/11 or 3/11) than he is the character who has a one-shot seer skill on torture (surely 1/11 at best).

Why are you assuming the latter instead of the former?

Logical fallacy, btw. 1/11 isn't the chance when one takes into account the observed action. It also assumes a bunch of other things.

Torturers like hurting people don't they? I'd guess that novice is the torturer, except that means Brick is a god and so totally unreliable. Anyway, perhaps the gods now know that novice is the torturer or Brick's accusation is a trademark day one Brick-gambit.

C'mon 'arry, are you sure you don't want to play one of these things?
