Hell, I'm liking Durance of Fate for the name alone.

There's seriously no harm at all in giving this alliance a few months at the least.

Now that I've had a bit of time to recover from my surprise, I'm thinking that it was, quite possibly, the best move KoP could have made. I was online last night getting my monk to the desert (finally), and observed Alliance chat going on, complete with an Alliance GvG scrimmage being organized, and seemingly enjoyed by the participants. We should give this alliance a fair chance - we have nothing whatsoever to lose, and quite a bit to gain. Had KoP not taken the plunge, we probably would have dithered on the forum for months before actually allying with anyone. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the give and take of opinions as much as any other RBer, but we do have a tendency towards stretching things ooooouuuuuuutttttt. So, I have no complaints. thumbsup

If these other guilds have websites, maybe we should get the URL and post them up somewhere so we can jump around to them and see what they're about?

I'm pretty much in agreement with what Hawk said. It does sometimes take this guild some time to organize, so making a quick decision to ally with a guild that has a similar approach to the game was a good idea. Hopefully the other guilds in the alliance are somewhat similar in some aspects to us and ZoS. But the whole idea of setting up mock guild battles and what not seems like a good way to get to know eachother, learn PvP, and get together for some of the allied missions right away.

As for which side we take...I said Kurzick a long time ago, but right now I really don't care too much.
If you believe everything you read, better not read.

I shake my head in bewilderment. huh I understand the need for policy. I write policy to ensure smooth operation and keep a team all operating 'on the same page' in my job. As much as I appreciate this person's desire to keep a guild clean I'm baffled about the extent to which this EULA goes to regulate the movements of it's members...

I've seen other guilds like this. That level of excessive ruling is actually counterproductive. I've seen worse, but I've seen better too. The kiss method is best. Simple and effective.

I'll agree that it's a bit more heavy-handed than I'd be comfortable with, on paper. In practice, it might work out differently, who knows. But I'm glad I'm in RB instead. wink We don't have to follow their rules, at least, even if in the same alliance.
