RBP3 [SPOILERS] - Friendly Kittens (Ragnar of Maya)

OK, so, I'm confused. Do we want to keep at least one of the warriors scouting? If so, it should probably be Yalara, who can heal in place to 1.1, then promote to Woody I next turn and heal 2 more turns then continue on. If necessary we can recall the other 2 warriors to try to help get city 2 built. With the lion trying to found your pink dot, we're going to need the warriors to deal with it.

As I would not have time to play till tomorrow night, I played the turn. I'm really not convinced we need to still be sending a warrior east, but in the absence of any conversation about it, I did it anyhow as I doubt it affects anything YET.

I really like your dotmap and those cities seem to have lot of potential. Great start so far, the only downside I see is the lack of copper on your screenshots.

Yeah, we haven't researched Bronze Working yet, so we don't know if there is any copper...

Ouch. I guess I have to put the blame on the amount of threads. smoke
Then your start might be even better. Yay to floodplains + FIN

The new turn is up. I did NOT play it because we NEED to come to an agreement on what we're doing with the warriors. I can play it in about 12 hours if no one else does.

This is what we should do with our current warriors.

(I wonder which dotmap he means!)

On the warriors: If Y heals in place for 3t (of which she's already healed 1, I take it) and Prrsha moves east continuously, they'll be the same distance from the capital, meaning Prrsha will have scouted 1 tile further from our original start location. Yalara can't scout any further than she has without stepping onto a flat desert. Y is also closer to the site(s) of the Pink Dots. Those were my reasons for assuming she'd be coming back once I saw the bear. That said, of course Yalara will be C1/Woody1 now, so she's probably the better scout than 0-xp Prrsha, assuming she survives that one turn on the flats. I agree it would be good to have 2 warriors heading toward Pink now.

We also need to decide:
1) Which Pink? I strongly favor the southern one still. There's room for a northern city that grabs (say) FP+grasscorn+(shares sheep if needed) whose BFC touches but does not overlap S pink's (pic eventually).
2) Speed Worker3/Settler2 per originally posted T49 plan, or speed Pink's development (hook horses faster) delaying worker3 by a turn and Settler2 by 3t? Note the latter plan was the one I assumed in my forecasting T70 post up above.

These questions could affect worker actions for NEXT TURN! (T37)

[EDIT: Since Cull agrees with your warrior plan, Maniac, let's go with it!]

I agree with the southern pink dot, and hooking up horses faster as opposed to delaying worker3 by 1 turn and Settler 2 by 3t? I prefer hooking up horses faster, as it GREATLY improves the city's BFC, for a minor cost in settler/worker time.

I think I phrased the difference poorly. The horses are going to get improved anyway, obviously - and Southern Pink is actually not much better off working Pastured Horses than Unimproved Floodplains at size 1 except for specific needs (monument) - which is why I want to farm the FP first and THEN pasture the horses. (Northern Pink doesn't have an FP to work, and though it's way better off working the capital's sheep than the pastured horses, that means the capital can't work the sheep, which would be bad at this stage of the game.) So the question is really: We can delay Pink's development by 2-3 turns to get our third city out faster, or we can delay city 3 by 2-3 turns to get Pink up to speed faster.

I favor the latter because with Emperor maintenance costs, I think our priority should be making sure the cities we have are strong (that's part of the reason we went with "option 2") before making each new city ... but also because Pink claims horses, allowing chariots. So if we delay Settler 2 to speed improvement at Pink, we have the option to start building Chariots out of Pink starting the turn after The Wheel hits. (Not the same turn wheel hits unfortunately, no matter which Pink we choose, though for different reasons). My long-term development plan calls for starting the chariot later (so we can farm the FP) and building it more slowly at first (so Pink can grow to size 2) but that plan can be vetoed in favor of faster chariots if we prefer, and at all events, Fierias can start building chariots whenever it's ready to take a break from Settlers and Workers for a while. Again, my plan would have our first three chariots out T58, T63, and T64, but we certainly COULD get one a lot sooner if need be.

Either way: If we want to speed Pink's development, slowing down worker3 and Settler 2 a little bit, we should start moving the two warriors responsible in that general direction. And on T37, we need our Workers on fairly specific tiles. More with a picture below.
