Admittedly they still included Montezuma, but he's been a fixture of the series for ages, plus the vast majority of the public wouldn't be aware of any other Aztec leaders.
Boudica.

Sure, Napoleon too... but neither of them was both a failure _and_ a genocidal maniac. Monty is the only leader I can think of who was both humiliated and an irredeemably awful person.

Yup, if you ever set someone as Mao in the worldbuilder you'll discover that he's not "LEADER_MAO" but "LEADER_CHINESE_LEADER", heh.

Another point on the Hitler/Stalin/Mao issue was well demonstrated by that White House communications director, who named Mao as a favorite political philosopher when talking at some public event. The left-wing dictators just aren't in the same niche as Hitler. Apart from maybe Pol Pot, but even that is relatively new.

Nooo, why did you give the Skirm combat! He is already ahead on Strength, better to give him first strikes, so he takes less damage I guess we can give him Shock next.
Construction takes only 3 turns to grow, but doesn't have the happy to do so. Still, to save us some turns growing ways down the line, I kept the citizen on the grass forest for this turn. Quarry comes online next turn.
I wanted to send another Skirm down to the barb city, but we are low on defenses and Tsargon's power is spiking, so I stayed our units. Also building a spear in the capital to improve out mix.
Demos are barely OK: 10 - 6 - 15. Need more cottages. And IW to bring two more gold online.
We lost graphs on Barteq, but will get them back next turn. Tsargon I think also started spying on us, so to keep his graphs, which we want to do, we will probably have to switch next turn. We nearly got Grimace's researches (just ~40 EP left), but now it's sort of irrelevant.

1. Skirms need C1. There are a lot of potential opponents against which it will make huge difference: Axes, Spears, Immortals.
2. Construction will be put on pause building a worker after axe.
3. I thought about sending additional skirm south but decided against it for the same reaons you did.

OK, let's do this T65 report which TBS asked.
Grimace has pretty dumb dotmap. Undortunate if we are going to conquer him. Also, we need to start thinking about dotmapping the northern region. Basically, two approches are possible: we can stick a single city to cover the whole region on the desert hill or 1W from it or put two cities at spots which are marked "alternative city".
This has EFFICIENCY written all over it. We produce maximum GNP and MFG with minimum food. Very thematic, I like it. Also, it will become even more efficient before it becomes less efficient. Our next population growth will happen in five turns and it will add 11 more hammers and 0 food.
Seriously though, I think placement of Kolyma was our biggest mistake, two food resources in two first cities is pretty bad. We should have settled 2E from current placement.
Cities:
Capital. Is going to grow to size 4 and build a settler, then a worker. After that will keep growing on cottages.
Kolyma. Overflow will go into an axe, then the forest 1S will be chopped into a spear. Will be near-stagnating at size 3 until Norilsk growth. After that will swap Copper mine to flood cottage and start growing.
Construction859. Axe - worker - axe or spear - settler (with whip) - Forge.
Norilsk. At size 3 will work two copper mines and a deer. Barracks next build.

To Bacchus: the worker 1NW from Norilsk should finish a road and then go to Pigs instead of chopping the forest. The worker who finished the quarry should go SE and build a road.

Also, Barteq has 6 cities, Tsargon - 5. What is interesting, Barteq had less food than us two turns ago and appears to have less pop even now. It seems like he is settling a little too fast.

I love that first screenshot of Construction859 - your only city on the whole screenshot despite all that culture! That city is such a boss, totally dominating that whole area.
