Death to Commodore, etc...? If he wants to go ahead and repeat that in here a few times I would be a-okay with that.

Is what I just did akin to putting up the bat signal basically?

Now I'm wondering if it would just be better to send 22 galleons south of his culture where he only has 1 turn to take a shot at them before I unload in his cities. We will probably only have enough attacking forces to fill 15 ships, so would he have more than 7 frigates/privateers in the area?
Edit: Thanks a lot, scooter

It might even have a popsicle's chance. I like it better than anything else so far, but it's also wayyyyy too late here for me to think it through very well, so I'll think it over again after I've caught up on some sleep.

Looking at the timing, I think we want to send the main galleon group of 15 next turn. Finish the workshop and put them in the capital. They would then skirt along the south, out of sight of Commodore's culture. If we are moving our southern galleons group of 7 north to fight privateers, that could be very nice timing in getting Commodore to pull ships north. And yes, we would want to cross our fingers that Commodore doesn't spot our main stack. That would suck. But we would be somewhere southeast of Songbird at the turn before peace expires if we leave next turn.
Or just send all 22 galleons next turn and care less about subterfuge and more about having more ships than he has attackers
Edit: More brainstorming this....
We have not seen Commodore's galleon stack. I think he may be feinting us. Why did he send all his privateers north? I think he's trying to draw our boats north and then he'll try to land his galleons in the south. It makes sense - he's left with his galleons in that direction before. So how does that affect what we do?

What do you think about turning on the EP slider to get sight on Commodore's cities? We would need about 600 EP to get visibility on cities that Commodore didn't capture from us, and 100 EP to get visibility on cities that he captured from us. So roughly 1 turn at 100%. It'd delay Chemistry, but we aren't getting Chemistry until 3 turns after the next war is declared

Well, good news! The turn rolled, our enforced peace with slowcheetah has ended, and he finished his turn without capturing any of our cities! If I open the game and find a demand for Rheims fin exchange for peace I will more than happily accept it. If I find a demand for Starbucks.... ugh, scooter, what are your thoughts on that possibility?
I'll play in a few hours. Right now I'm hanging out with my brother who's on leave

I think I'd be ok with a demand that includes Starbucks. It means we get the true 1v1 with Commodore that we want. Also, I'll be mostly around tonight, so when you play I should be on chat either on my computer or phone. So we should be able to discuss whatever demand he possibly made. I'll be completely shocked if he just did nothing and remained at peace.
EP slider thing... Eh. I don't love the idea given how necessary Chemistry might be. But then, we can carry out this invasion independent of Chemistry it seems, so maybe it's worthwhile. What's our Knight count up to btw?

Knight count was near 20, and we can add another 15-20 assorted units from the Slowcheetah war.
I think we go without Chemistry and just give Commodore 1 turn shot at our stack before landing. If we wait for Chemistry that's going to be 8 turns before the tech is done, another 2 or 3 to gather up Frigates, and then we move our troops out. If we wait that long we'll be too busy trying to sink the ships that will be surrounding our shores to be able to push out an attack.

Also, I still feel sort of let down that Noble didn't pounce on this obvious east/west mistake. I'd like a full refund.

I saw the mistake but you already pointed it out. I don't like being redundant, you know.
