If everything went perfectly, and I managed to wipe Darrell off the mainland, I'd press on and try to take him out of the game with help from SL and Dreylin, so that they do some heavy lifting. I'm actually quite tempted to just try for a straight up me versus everyone if it were to work out because that would be a fun way to end the game, along with devious because I wouldn't be handing over an territory to SL (which would be one reason to "help" take the rest of the land from Darrell and destroy as many units as I can on the first turn of the war)

Police State or Rep, Merc for sure, maybe rush to Democracy (Darrell is 1 turn from Constitution). Vassalage and Theo mean I can get an edge on the water if I can drag myself along in tech (and building research/wealth will likely be an option). Leaving Caste to fit in to the civics and possibly SP if I have awful distance costs.

Cities from Darrell depends on what I see, because Musketeers are fast enough to get to the front and hold the cities but Darrells culture...and I will need to be really fast, Darrell is in Nationhood.

Oh god my rep is so screwed because of this game. I can't think of a single good, decent human thing that I can do any more.

I don't have a choice. I hit Darrell. My only other feasible choice was to try for total peace, but I was never that certain of it even being possible, because Dreylin was quite likely to try and hit me anyway along with SLs' support, and I'd effectively be left out in the cold on tech.

I just don't want to...

Honestly I think this game paints you as a really nice guy, and I don't think anything you can do in the remaining part will change that.

So, I'll start at the finish. You remember this post, where I was pleased with my economy?

Well, I'm still pleased with it, but now I am making 59 gpt at max tax, and 139 bpt. All hail the Rep/Caste/Merc Combo? IW finished this turn, so I'm just about where I said I would be, able to build research/wealth to help me out as and when needed.

But I'm not going to do that. I have no interest in obsoleting my UU, my beautiful 2 move, 2 promo musket when built without a barracks because of my remaining 2 civics of Vassalage and Theo (which I decided to stick with because I have no other religion civicthat will be useful, I need the 19 free units Vassalage gives me, and I lack the happy room now to effectively draft more than once).

I've made my decision, that I'm hitting Darrell. I can't change my mind again and have any chance of not being dogpiled. So those units Darrell just gifted me are moving north to embark on galleons to attack Darrell with. I kinda feel sorry for Darrell, but at the same time, I can't see anything else being a resonable course of action for this game. I have more cities than Ruff and SL combined FFS, once I build my fourth court house etc I wouldn't have any real problem outteching them, Dreylin is what would make it more difficult.

We don't have a score graph, but this is good enough to show who is in the driving seat, as we all know...if I can realise this advantage now against Darrell, then I think the only good ending to this game would be if I declared on everyone else.Forget teching to the sky, forget allowing the others to gang upon me, take the fight to them. I won;t show the espionage graph, but I have just enough EP to now see every other persons research. Yes, that is why I'm running the occasional Spy Spec...
