*Whew*. I read through the thread, and "epic" is definitely an appropriate adjective. As I would have suspected, my writing skills don't match up to the other players', but it was fun to take part.
Tasunke Wrote:Btw, I wonder what the power graph was like on the final turn? Would be a shame to not play another few turns to kill of the Calabim army ![tongue tongue](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/RBOld/tongue.gif)
I think the powergraph I posted was from one of the last turns. A good chunk of the Calabim power was skeletons (150+ in the super stack still) and catapults, and we had enough Life II mages in the area that we probably could have cleaned up the skeletons.
With the AC going down, probably due to killing some Prophecy Mark units, I think this game was decided. It would have taken several more very long turns to wipe out Alexis, but I think it was inevitable.
The end of game save is attached to the "we win" post; if you feel like wasting a bunch of hours, feel free to play it out.

Oh, outstanding! I'm very relived to see that I didn't stick you with an entirely hopeless situation at the end, Dave =)
A thousand thanks to everyone who participated! This was my first SG, and the most fun game of SP FFH I've played in a long time

Oh FFS. I kept reading that sign as "Book of Immorality"

Sorry for the MLP names for the Beasts of Agares Bob, I wanted to name them something ridiculous and it was those names or something like Fluffy Cuddly and Hugglemonster

If anyone wants to start another one of these, by all means go for it! I'll probably just lurk though I think, I want to read a Perpy game as it unfolds
There is of course also the neat SG Selrahc is trying to start, which needs one or two more players (I believe we have three, with an additional future "maybe").
I think we had a perfect combination of different writing / playing styles and FFH experience for this game. Had we played this game with all SP Masters, I think it would have been over much more quickly and been a lot less interesting, unless we all deliberately went out of our way to screw each other over. The occasional role-playing also really helped to make the game unpredictable, and Selrahc's stories were hilarious to read once the game ended.
Finally, I agree with Selrahc that having a surprisingly competent AI opponent was a fantastic boon. If all of the AI had played like Auric, we'd have needed to delete our own units to have a chance of losing. I have noticed with EitB that I'm finding a lot more games with runaway AI, but only if the matches last for 200+ turns. It's kind of like Civ III in that regard. Actually, the combat in this game toward the end reminded me a bit of Civ III warfare as well, relying on being able to instantly produce / move defenders to any threatened city as the only means to manage the ludicrous AI armies.

I wouldn't normally get Order when we're evil with AV.
Or would I?

Yes, yes and surely I would never have kept razing cities had I realized that each was raising the AC by 5-10 points. I definitely didn't gift Rhoanna Corruption of the Spirit to ensure the AC reached 100! Let's try to maintain a positive attitude as we think back on our recently concluded game

I'm guessing that Thoth first drove it away, and Pin and Brian decided to use the adepts for other stuff.
Yeah, I had 4/5 Life 1 Adepts/Mages busy during my set. Not sure what happened afterwards.
Quote:Speaking of Arcane units, most of ours seem to be... gone. I guess we lost most of our mages in some terrible battle or other? That's a shame. I'll come to heavily regret their absence during my set.
I lost some of them "stack attacking" a Vamp stack after checking the odds and getting fed up with individual attacks.
That was also the battle that produced a 120 xp Adept:
No idea what the odds were to produce that much exp.
Quote:The diplo modifiers with Alexis don't make a whole lot of sense to me. Why the heck did we ever gift her a city? Weird.
I was tired of all the unit micro and dialed up Alexis to see what she wanted for peace....one of the former Malakim cities and 1k or so gold. So I killed a bunch of her units and captured a weakly defended Vampire city. And gave her the city back in exchange for peace. :hat:
Quote:Moving to another part of the empire for a second- what the heck is going on here? This is not a good city to build the ToM, considering we can't rush it :|
For the moment I decide to leave it as-is, and I direct about a dozen workers over to workshop most of that city's land. I'm hoping we can win Dom before it matters, only need like 5% more of the land.
That was my doing. My thinking was that the city would be our best producer once it had been paved with workshops, but apparently that didn't happen.
