So, uh, Sunrise. When Shoot, WK, and myself get around to crushing you guys in Pitboss 6, could you login and do the attacking for us? wink

sunrise089 Wrote:u I don't know how to set a new random seed in a SP game,

Select "new Random Seed on reload" as a game option when you are setting up your worldbuilder sim.

Save before making your simmed attack.

Reload as needed to test results.

That depends on difficulty level...at Monarch + you definitely don't, not sure what level gets you at least one free win (Noble?)

Found this in the RBPBEM1 subforum:

Quote:See Research requires 0.75 * (100 + his EP against me).

Does anyone know if that's the right formula (normal speed)?

I think it is the right formula, yeah.
Current games (All): RtR: PB80 Civ 6: PBEM23

Ended games (Selection): BTS games: PB1, PB3, PBEM2, PBEM4, PBEM5B, PBEM50. RB mod games: PB5, PB15, PB27, PB37, PB42, PB46, PB71. FFH games: PBEMVII, PBEMXII. Civ 6:  PBEM22 Games ded lurked: PB18

Just in case there's any chatter in the lurker thread about the recent "you're the biggest threat!" "no you are!" stuff in the public thread, let me assure you I'm not confident in my strategy wink There's definitely something to be said for keeping quiet. Still, I made the call to try to offer counterarguments at least occasionally. The other factor, which I've suggested in thread, is that a few civs are getting away with no attention here. My GNP really was only 3rd last turn (5th this turn due to a #&*% slave revolt), and I know pindicator has better tech and production than me.

Mechanics question: If a city suffers a slave revolt and you choose an option that forces the revolt to end the next turn (so you pay happiness or gold), if you then go into anarchy does that also take care of the city revolt? My double-gems city is currently under slave revolt, and I need to swap into my religion anyways. I'm not sure though if the slave revolt will just be delayed a turn though...

I think the slave revolt is the same as revolt from capture or culture, which I don't think ticks down during anarchy, but could be wrong on either of those.

Yes, that's the right EP formula for research. (Aside: I've seen several players in several games over the past few days who posted EP formulas then asked if they're the right ones. Odd.)

The EP numbers sort of suck. As best I can tell either Rome and Mali have not met anyone else (despite knowing basically what direction each other are and where China is) or they're spending all of their EP on me anyways. I have mine split to keep chart visibility, as tracking power levels is the most important thing. It's therefore almost impossible to stop Rome and Mali from seeing my research frown EDIT: Is the formula for city visibility known? If they start getting that I need to get clever with unit positioning.

I guess I need to start taking countermeasures (cheesy, but it's cheesy to post my current research in the public thread too). Running binary, on another tech when I'm stockpiling cash, is a no-brainer. I probably don't want to do parkin-like effort of actually changing tech right at the end of turn, but it is something to think about.

You've got Code of Laws, build some courthouses and hire some spies for EP. wink

City visibility is 1.25 * (100 + opposing EP), but also modified by the espionage multiplier in the city (distance, religion, security bureau, etc.) Search on Civfanatics for espionage cost guide.
