Yeah, settling this city was one of our better decisions.

I'm thinking about building a Monument in Norilsk instead of Barracks and then using the city as a worker/settler pump, not unit pump.

Chatting with Bacchus now. It looks like we pretty much have a consensus that Grimace should be removed from consideration no later than T100. Our opinions on how exactly we proceed are diffrent however: I want to attack later and with mass HAs, Bacchus - very early, with a couple of swords and a token cover.

The original mix I proposed was 2-3 swords, 4 axes, 2 skirms and 3 chariots for mobility and resource-cutting (Grimace has a single, recently connected copper close to our border). But that was coming more from the "conquer Grimace's core and proceed long-term with eastwards expansion towards HAK" thinking, the latter aspect was our previous consensus. What we might do instead is change the direction of play entirely and make a massive conquest/settlement push towards Barteq simply to stop him running away. That would require a completely different investment from what I had in mind originally.
EDIT: Important addition is that Grimace has built no real military to date, mostly a bunch of warriors.

Our preliminary decision was to research IW and then HBR as if we go straight to HBR we won't be able to bring Norilsk to its optimal production capacity (20 base hammers) in time. However, my research has shown that Norilsk can be grown to this level only by something like T95. This is very late. So, what seems to be more viable option if we follow my plan is go straight to HBR. This way we can have about 16 HAs by T90.
Bacchus, your thoughts? What and when can we have if we go IW now? We have something like two turns to decide then we will have to turn on research.

Well, IW gets us a greatly increased commerce output and potentially a greater mfg output too. As to how many of which units we can build, I will have to sim...

So, I think HBR first is the way to go after all, but I also don't think we should wait until we have it for the attack. It looks like we can easily attack with 10 axes by T80 -- this let's us take Borzoi and cut his copper. We should then follow up with the HA stack, and we won't need 16, 10 will do the job. Even if he goes "full military" after out axe attack, the damage we will do by cutting the metal, the roads to capital and the harassment of workers is greater.

So... by something like T82 we will have the following force ready to roll: 11 Axes, 2 Chariots, 1 Shock Skirmisher, 1 Spear. With reinforcements coming at a speed like an axe per every two turns.

What I like most is that about a half of this army will be built after T75. Grimace will have really short notice here...
