I've been stirring up trouble quite nearly as long as Doc and I'm at least half as good at it, too.
There's just this quiet part of me that thinks, "Hey, time for a hairball."
"Hey, we've been fighting an intelligent, calm, one-front battle for several minutes on end. ... I wonder what might be behind THAT door over there?"

It took a little longer than I expected, but I have the Rogue report completely finished. I still hope to hear from some of the other Rogues, so if you have any comments or pictures don't hesitate to post them in this thread so that they can be included in the report.

Sulla: You could have put more in to Cold Mastery. It -does- affect the chill duration, as resistance shortens chill duration.
This is one reason why my orb chill wasn't blinking off immediately: I had a decent bit stacked in to mastery.
I'm jealous of that fire damage, though. My damage rate was a lot lower with single digits in Warmth and slvl 2 Fire Mastery.

Good job rogues!
Regarding the halls of anguish/pain, there are only 3 places the stairs can possibly be and they are the same on both levels. So it's not really all that hard to know where to go. I haven't bothered to figure out which map layout corresponds to which staircase location but given that there are a finite number of map layouts it's probably not difficult.

Yep.
Figuring out where the stairs are on something like Worldstone Keep Level 3 is a bit trickier, though. So is beelining to the gold chest in a false tomb. I still get it wrong, sometimes, in these cases.
Finding the stairs quickly in the crystal passages is tricky, too. The only one that is truly defiant, though, is the Durance. Wow. That is literally the only area in the game where the stairs can appear literally anywhere. Maybe some hardcore Mephy Run vets know a trick or two I don't, but anway.
I sent Sulla some pics. I'll send more later.

Just a reminder--
I'll be on the road tonight going out of town for the holiday weekend so I won't be able to make the session.
I'll be back by next week. Since there aren't any quests/wp's to worry about, I should be able to just jump in wherever.
Happy 4th and PK PK!

Sorry to disappoint you, but there were zero PK incidents, zero close calls on PK incidents, and only one death in the entire session, when an extra fast mana burn Fuzzy gave Jaffa the back of his hand.
We full-cleared the Moor, Den, Plains, Field, Graveyard, and both crypts. (Sulla marveled that we accomplished in one night what took us a couple of weeks on the 3dot run!)
Rogues r0x0rZ j00!
I imagine the PKing will begin when you get back. I'm STILL pulling your arrows out of my ass from our D1 Four Rogues run.
Missed you anyway, though. That was actually some of the best fun I've had with Red_Rover. Sorry you weren't there to witness our general magnificence.

Sorry I wasn't able to join last night, but the closing on my new house ran over. I should be there next week, though.

We were shockingly efficient in our last session, as Sirian mentioned. I guess being ahead instead of behind the monster level curve makes a huge difference. Progress was actually (gasp) noticeable all evening long. The biggest drawbacks of going hostile were actually the inability to see the other Rogues on the minimap (beyond a very short range) and the fact that Sirian's Frost Orb has a very long chill duration. The inability to use everyone else's portals down the road will eventually become a factor though... Highlight of the night for me was watching my Chilling Armor fire back at the other Rogues when I was tagged accidentally. That and watching Jaffa's Hydras turn and fire away at me once a boss was killed.

Behing ahead of the clvl-mlvl curve is certainly an advantage, especially when coupled with the relatively low HP of monsters in act 1. I would expect the areas with closer quarters will prove to be more challenging than the more open areas.
Maggot Lair should be interesting. Heck, even Pit 2 should be fun.
