I wouldn't mind being a dedicated Lurker if anyone needs filler.

Gold Ergo Sum Wrote:So far the only real request for Krill has been to let the players know the map wrap you choose before leader/civ selection is made. Have you made a decision on that Krill? Can we please know the rough land:water ratio on the map too before picking leaders/civs? Obviously there's not much point in, for instance, picking the Vikings if it's pretty much an all-land map.
Kyan Wrote:Secondly, i heavily disagree with the above point. I totally respect where you're coming from but financial is, in my view, just a lot easier to leverage. I would say it probably is a photo-finish between Financial and Expansive. Creative would be very close behind and Philosophical not miles behind that. As I said, it depends upon the type of game - but for this type of game (large-scale pitboss on a reasonable sized map), being one of the few Financial civs is far more of an advantage than being one of the few Expansive civs, IMHO. Perhaps we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Just to remind everyone, in about a week I'll be going bush for about 10 days and will be without internet access during that time. Thus, I'd prefer if either the game gets started before then (in the next few days, so that I have a chance to analyse my start and give my sub/dedlurker instructions for the days I'm away rather than having them start the game cold)... or alternatively, if the game starts around the 15th-16th of January when I'll be back that would be great. I don't know if that's too long to wait for everyone else though.
Not sure what the typical timeline is for starting games here, but it looks to me like we're still at least a few days away. Either way, I guess it'd be good to do the civ/leader selection process within the next week before I leave.
Sorry to be a pain, been planning this trip for a while though so can't do much about it.

4. Lord Parkin I don't mind either way - I don't know either Sciz or antisocialmunky at all, so I can't state a preference. If either of them want to dedlurk me, I'm fine with that... and equally I'm fine if they'd rather do someone else instead.

We'll probably aim to have leader selection hammered out before you leave (hopefully in the next couple days). Whenever the game gets started before you leave I am not sure. If it doesn't, we can probably delay until your return without a huge problem.
Really, if you just get to see your start, you could tell a lurker what tech and initial build to start with and that should be OK for 10 turns.

Although it does miss out on being able to move the Scout/Warrior to see additional information before settling, which I usually prefer to do.

Just waiting to see if any more votes come in and what sunrise chooses.
We might be able to start leader selection as early as late Thurs or Friday.
