I was originally going to suggest that we bypass Mai Hime and try to fork Air Gear, but then I realised it was built on top of Iron. Therefore, it absolutely has to go. Of course, Sian could always get Iron off Luddicator, as they're both fighting Fierce.
Another thing: Sian doesn't have a great deal of Catapults, meaning there is no way for him to contest the field. Therefore, trying to strike deep into his core is always an option.
Sian has absolutely seen our Phract stack. Hence it's now or never. Hope it teleports to an out-of-the way placce, like say 14 of Mai Hime, so it can neither re-inforce the city nor get in our way. Shame Engineering couldn't come in a turn earlier, that way our Phract in Nicomedia could join the party.
If Sian is whipping Walls, 10 out of 10 sims, we took the city. If Sian whips a Pike, then we took the city 7 out of 10 sims. So uh, let's hope for the best
A few more things: we really should have revolted into Vassalage and Organised Religion, to let us skimp on Stables, we save more in unit cost than lose in Civic costs, and to get some infrastructure up. No point firing a Golden Age now, considering how much of our population had been turned into heavily armoured horsemen. The worker stack should have been closer to the front, so that way we could quickly road up to Mai Hime.

I think we're getting you back here, Yuri. Your island attack made Sian paranoid, which had him mass troops early...now we give you the new Sian, trained in defending against fast-moving shock troops.

Nah, after my island attack he went ahead and attacked Fierce He started building Pikes 2 turns ago, after he saw the 'phract stack. As Nicolae said, pity we couldn't get Engineering earlier...
Thanks for the thoughts Nicolae! Agree it's now or never. Also agree I maybe mismanaged the Workers, but I felt what they did was necessary
Revolt to Vassalage always makes neighbours nervous. As it stands, Sian didn't start building 'phract defences until 2 turns ago; if we were in Vassalage, I'm sure he would've built something earlier. I would like to adopt it in the next few turns, if we can find a window to afford an anarchy turn

War started, Naruto razed - didn't feel 1 'phract and 1 Axe can keep it, and there's no quick & easy way to reinforce. Sian's chariot teleported to the tile where we were going to move the 'phracts, and the one that killed it lost quite a bit of health (7.7/12 left). But 2 promos should heal most of it
Attack on Mai Hime next turn - fingers crossed...

Make your neighbours nervous! Look at what NS7 snowballed to when no one called him out on his expansion! Force them to build military, remember, we were deliberately stunting our economic growth, make them do the same thing!
Still, it's a hard call to make in diplomacy, but there is a case for Vassalage being partially economic, so it's just military potential instead of guaranteed phracts.

Well, it's a two-ended stick. If we want to slow down the neighbours, then by all accounts, Vassalage is the way to go. If we want to take their land, then we'd prefer them not to build units - as is the case with Sian. Remember, we discovered Feudalism at about the same time when we razed his city on our island. At that point we knew the target for our 'phracts, and didn't want to make him any more nervous than razing that city would make him
As for NS7, they seem to be very skilful at putting themselves in position when having them as friends is more beneficial then attacking them. They certainly took advantage of our Oracle gambit to expand and take most of our jungle uncontested - but at no point we could call them on it without cancelling the Oracle plan. As a result they had 5 cities by the time we founded our 3rd, or something ridiculous like that

PS I'm not sure that not adopting Feudalism was the right decision. Just trying to explain the reasoning behind it
As for OR, I believe we still don't have enough Buddhist cities to justify high maintenance. And we had more important things to build than missionaries. So with OR, I'm almost certain it was not worth adopting so far

On the plus side, those jungle cities are utter shit , the only benefit was the Stone for the mids. On yet the other hand, I think they were deliberate to slow down any advance of cataphracts, I suspect there is alot of culture built up behind them.

Have you ended the turn yet? It would have been good to garrison the city with at least 1 sentry Phract, and to spot for incoming catapults. If the coast was clear, move the rest of the stack to the hill 1E of Mai Hime, to threaten Air Gear.
I think it's safe to start keeping cities, as we've taken his native source of iron.
