Note: they actually made no offer of archers or asked for additional missionaries in their official message to us. So how about we just send this to them:

Great! We'll make sure the missionary heads towards you right away. We can send you 1-2 more if you'd like to get you a jump start on spreading it around. Let me know if you're interested in that.
Thanks,

Thoughts? I imagine if send them 3 total, that'll get them started and invest them enough that they'll spread to their other cities. They said they want to use OR, so they'll do some missionary building themselves apparently.

Received from Apolyton:

We are far rom each other, but our brave traders could still coul still viit you and bring gold to both of our civs if we open our borders. Do we agree?
If you have anything else to discuss we will welcome your diplomats.

I would mention the archers. Some flattery about how awesome highly promoted archers can be, perhaps? Play on their pride.
If you know what I mean.

Agree with Zakalwe. Not so much because the archers are that valuable to us (most will be solely MP units solely) but because I think it will make them value the missionary gift more - people tend to value things they've paid for or invested in more than freebies - and make our relationship seem less one-way.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

The awesomeness of highly promoted archers? Umm... sure... why not. No reason to mention that those "awesome" units will be undergoing the highly dangerous task of backline military police duty.
Can we send Apolyton the gift of a spell check function? I think I spotted five different mistakes in the four sentences they passed along. (Obviously we want Open Borders. I'll offer in-game the next time that I sign in.)

Do we want to say one missionary specifically? From their message, it looks like they are expecting more than one missionary. I think WPC asked for some missionaries from CFC and only got back to us after CFC asked for a higher price.
we don't know what the price CFC asked for and I am hesitant that any negotiation will take them to CFC...

I don't think we should say specifically how many missionaries. I would tell them "a few" missionaries or "some" missionaries and send them no more than three.

I don't understand the reasoning behind this, please elaborate.
