Well Boldly doesn't have IW yet. If he did found that city for iron he must have deduced it from seeing the yield in someone else's territory. I think it's just coincidence.

Well, Sareln's spreadsheet says 92.44% odds of victory.

We'd lose the three units though. I don't know really if there's much point razing the city, Dazed seems to be retreating, I don't want any more territory in that direction, and he's my least powerful opponent. Maybe I should redirect some units south to deal with Boldly's trireme, and try to establish a presence on south central island?
Longer term, if we're conquering territory, going after Zak might make sense? We can amass units behind the front, load them on galleys, and unload in Pita on the turn of the attack for a surprise first wave of units.
Once we take over the highlighted tile we could even insta-build a fort SW of Pita and move the units even deeper into Zak's territory on the first turn by unloading in the fort.
I have to run.

Well that's not a terrible attack plan, zak has the forested deer that we could go for the turn after. He will probably occupy it though, so make sure you have enough force to take the tile over. But first I would compare how zak and Boldly are doing first, I'm not convinced that zak is the best target. We could also squeeze zak some more by settling 1e of his gems without attacking.

I decided not to attack Dazed. My focus now should be preserving my strength, making attacking me unattractive, and growing vertically. I also want to establish a presence on south central island. Maybe.
My capital is now the largest city in the world, and with gems and furs coming online it can keep growing to size 13. (The plains hill was selected by the governor upon growth, I will work a cottage instead for max growth.) I selected Metal Casting as my next tech, and with a forge the happy cap will be 15.
In other words, Calendar happiness isn't really needed at the moment. So I think maybe the next tech after Metal Casting, or even before Metal Casting if that seems safe, should be Code of Laws. Courthouses are obviously great, and I do want Civil Service for my capital.
I have to run.

My humble opinion would be MC->CoL->CS then Calendar or possibly Lit (NE/HE).

MC next for sure, if that Boldly trireme is still coming north. Then I'm not sure. I still think MoM is worth building in Mash, but you can grow to seven first.

Well, nobody has Calendar yet. MoM is very cliche at this point but that doesn't make it a bad idea.
Anyway, we still need to explore that small outer island.

Zakalwe's power jumped a bit the last few turns:
But he adopted Caste System this turn, so he was probably just getting some extra units in before that. This puts Zakalwe as the likely Confucianism founder. By the way, what do Zakalwe's borders tell us about his city placements?
I decided to pump out a GP from Papa. An academy in Leap should actually be worthwhile now, and if I get an artist I'm sure I could find a use for it. This also accelerates the border pop in Papa, which will shore up our border against Boldly.
My two powerhouse cities, and demos:
The biggest unknown for me in this game is probably Boldly, I'm unsure what his game plan is. Noble thinks he's just not playing his A game, but I keep worrying that he'll spring a nasty surprise on me. Anyway I decided to show him a catapult in my southern front city this turn.
I have to run.
