Okay, so if we build SH eot41 we definitely want to get the third settler out after that. If we don't land SH we might want to modify our dotmap and settle somewhere different. Plus we need that third worker anyways.

Now in terms of the third city, I think there are a few options...
1) Settle 3N of the capital, steal the corn or farmed FP from the capital. What does the capital's improvement state look like by the time we settle the city? This is probably the fastest city off the ground if capital is decently improved, but it doesn't get us moving toward the south.
2) Settle where the warrior is, getting the fish and the clam. Capital pops borders t47 or so (it gets a monument too), so that will be quite a few turns faster than waiting for the new city to pop borders. We'll still have one overlapped forest that we can chop for a work boat, right?
3) Settle 2W of copper, chop for work boat(s). This is strongest overall city and we'll need copper sooner or later anyway, so this might be a good idea and then we can just settle south. However we need to have the worker labor ready to road north to this site.

we will definitely get SH if we go after it. we are so much better than all the other teams, after all. <G>.
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

Currently I think 2W of the copper makes the most sense. We'll have workers in the area that just finished chopping SH and then we can road the pig and pasture it (Stonehenge pops borders in 2t, including the turn that it was built), so we should be able to get up decent roads to the city by the time the settler comes out.

So what's happening? Did we win? Did someone summon Hyborem? Has global warming started?

BTW, Serdoa, you know you should be focusing on this game, not the Civ 5 PBEM 2 and PBEM 50, right?

Well, tbh, I didn't focus on either yesterday, as I had a dentist appointment. Was before that already nervous and after that I wasn't really interested in thinking about games or writing stuff (that doesn't distract me enough). And now the game is down it seems, so even if I wanted I couldn't take screenies.

But, I have settled on Stone, we started mining the hill and chopping another forest according to plan and are building SH right now. Still not met anyone.

Anyhow, something to discuss for you guys: HG or Colossus, whats better?

Well I'm not a big fan of the HG. It's worth building with stone, and Math is something you generally want early anyway, but it's not a game-changing wonder.

I don't see how we'll tech MC without Oracle though.

Just to be sure, you realized my previous post was a joke, Serdoa?

For this map, I'd prefer Colossus. HG fits more into a "if we can get it, that's cool" mentality, in my opinion. Mostly because I think it'll fall before we have enough cities to make it profitable. But HG is probably easier for us to get than Colossus (which would need Oracle).

The tone for this game seems to be: "we want what we can't get, we don't want what we can get". Not that this is an uncommon situation. lol

Well our theme is kinda fitting for that, at least when I think back on how some of those girls became my ex-girlfriend wink
