Screw it, this deserves a pic and sleep is for weaklings:
Not quite keen enough to put in a SevenSpirits style-bubble, but for those with powers of unbounded imagination it says: "Imma gonna raze a city". I was wrong about the worker though. Oh well.
And Boston:
That's a road leading into the forest. There is coast to the west. When I de-fogged it it was working the lake.

So we're going to get some cities regardless?
How far away is a chariot from Boston? And do we have graphs on Inca or America? How are we power-wise overall on demos?

Oh yeah, we have space to expand, so there will be cities. Just slower than for everyone else.
Graphs incoming. Overall power -- 5th. Little relevant as retep/Inca are 1st/2nd I think. But we can bolster quickly enough and Inca's troops are tied down by Khmer anyway, for the time being. Also, Inca don't know where exactly we are, just the general direction.
America is really, really, really far.

Well, there is a CG1 Archer at ~2.8 health in Carmen now, and the Quechua actually healed up to slightly less than 2 (shows 2.0).
Off to think about the odds. I am leaning towards not attacking intuitively.
EDIT: Lol, forgot about the native +50% for a moment, there is nothing to think about, is there. But there you are, keep your cities defended.

Just can't catch a break this turn. Our American adventurer might inadvertently get involved in some local brawls:
Seriously, if my scout saves his pasture, I will be so angry. Also lost a worker-turn this turn, because a worker decided to receive a movement order whilst I was scrolling the map. Yeah, don't scroll with units selected. At least he didn't run off into some barbarians.
And I chose not to attack Carmen, of course. Took a worker turn out of him with that threat, but nothing else. Then again, it didn't cost me anything. The beaten up scout will relocate to fogbust, chariots are returning for zone defense and barbarian cleanup. There is actually a barb Warrior within our borders, but he is kept in check by an archer.

So, we did save the American pasture. Thankfully, woody1 was enough to barely keep our intrepid explorer alive and the victory brought a nice chunk of experience, enough to get woody2, in fact, just in time for exploring the jungle belt. On the domestic barb front, a Warrior came onto our own pasture, the horse one, and was immediately taken out by one of our archers. To recompense for zone defense, the cap garrison Warrior went south. We are still one below happy cap, so leaving the city ungarrisoned has no detrimental anger effect.
Demos clawed up to 5-13-15. Don't ask me how that's possible, we must have really scored on the land lottery. High GNP is accounted for by Writing, though -- researching with two prereqs.

Heh,
That's a seven-point loss due to turn-roll effects and barb movement. I'm not even sure how that's possible, a fairly large city lost to barbs?

Game position: Plako, Nakor, Ichabod and Slowcheetah all settled cities this turn or the last. Whilst I am sort of standing around with a dick in my mouth (in fairness, I am building a settler, but who cares at this point).

William declared war on Ichabod 0_O. No idea about the reason, but I'm considering trading maps with Ichabod, now that we have Writing to have a peek. He has 6 cities, so maybe something to do with that, but still -- brave William. Particularly in the light of this:
Now, I assume this isn't against me. Especially as he has seen my scout there last turn, and the turn before that.
This is also entertaining:
Go culture.
Not sure about tech choice. We need IW for jungle clearance and maybe a better metal location (can hardly be worse), we need Sailing for the large amounts of seafood lying around and trade routes. Monarchy would be nice. Maths for chops and Currency... I hate this part of the game, especially when there is nothing particularly pressing. I will probably grab something expensive before the tech rate fall through due to new cities. So IW or Maths.

It didn't take long: Plako declared war on Serdoa's newbie sub and immediately razed a city. What a way to enter RB, ouch. From the speed of this happening, I presume that Serdoa left a bit of a mess, the new guy simply didn't have time to screw things up so far. As you remember from our scouting of America, they had no units aside from Warriors even just a couple of turns ago. So, Plako is going to be in really good shape now. I wish I could do something to help dhalpir, but it's all too far. (The wish to help comes from considerable doubt in dhalpir's ability to defend against plako properly. If he can — awesome, if he can't, then we will be rolled over by the Maya even before Greece gets to us.)
Offered map trade to Greece.
City count: Ichabod - 5, Plako - 4, William - 3, Dhalpir - 3, Retep - 2.
The Khmer axe stack is making their way to Inca via a southern route. Pleasant to watch.
