If any lurker has knowledge of what the history of this civ is, and if i need to be aware of any minor/major grievances vs other civs. ( besides my "cold" war vs india ) would be much appreciated!

That's basically it. Stalin opportunistically took a couple city from the Khmer who conquered Elkad when Plemo killed them off in turn. The only other thing is that Stalin refused to open border with JP the other super power in the area (next to Plemo) since the beginning of the game.

Razing the barb city can give you a fair bit of gold towards currency.

Ive got a crazier way of doing it. ( also the barb city is a bit far away, guarded by 4 archers on a hill.. so factoring in the amount of units id need to bring out there to actually capture the city AND the costs of those units to walk for so long outside of cultural borders... not worth it IMO.
So instead, imma help myself either get eaten quickly... or get more land AND stay.... relevant? Dunno. The previous controller of Stalin basically acted like Stalin and i have no idea why he settled in some of these places and why he did half of the things that i can see. Looked like someone that was simply going the "well i got Elephants, ill beeline HBR and construction YEEEEHAWWWWW" and then ran into a wall known as, Shitty traits + Deity + shitty map = LOL GOOD LUCK

Gotta try something right? Well last turn i moved to this spot with my main stack. He moved his SHITLOAD to that spot, and i want to see if he can defend that town or not. I have a WE on the galley on the clam, and while on the forest i "should" withstand his smaller # of catapults and pure axe stack. And, if he decides to just throw it all at my stack, its a Win-Win. I get less unit upkeep, he has used most/all of his cats, and i FAR out produce him. So eventually his 3 cities will be mine

The old player sucked so bad at empire management that its making me look bad trying to fix it all with his tech choices. So... libraries in any city that can whip them and support cottages.. and hiring scientists as we can afford them. Eventually we will get Currency. That should get us in the green even with a stack in enemy lands. Basically, i still have no hope of winning.. HOWEVER.. I can take this indian guy out, settle a couple more cities and try and tech a bit towards... Knights? nah... WE's counter them pretty well.. Hmm. Something. Either way, ill have to hope one of my larger neighbors gets in a huge fight and i can start devouring them from the other side.

Any particular reason your letting Plemo, one of your big neighbors, watch your stack into enemy territory? I'm assuming you have eyes on his stack / stacks?

His stack was headed in the other direction, i have spare workers going to go and check if its turned around. ( we also signed a copper/copper, but those can of course be broken without a care ) I also honestly am just happy to be able to JUST squeeze this out:

If india kills any of my units, it will also make me happy. Id love for him to just throw his stack into mine while im sitting in a forest, rather than if i move 1S and try and hit him. Maybe after currency and i get another round of WE's whipped... i can finally finish this guy off? Maybe he will retreat some units incase i have units on those galleys? I have 1WE, but maybe he doesnt know. Maybe he somehow is able to afford his HUGE standing army with 3 cities, AND have a decent defense in his capital? Still dont know how his units arent striking. Has to be close by now.

Ive wittled down his catapult stack from 25+ to about 13 or so. All while also cleaning up other units sometimes even at a good hammer trade! I do this because ive got alot more production/whipping power + WE's, all of which will doom him. Plus, i still dont want to risk getting my stack hit by all those cats and 20!+ axes.
Also, Flunky has a galleon in the region that ive terrified of. I feel like he is going to settle a city all the way over here, on an island that is rightfully mine, just because he currently can. Im also afraid he might just raze a city or something of mine and that will cause me to bow out of this game due to it being just a completely illogical move. ESPECIALLY with the players he could be boating. Now, he could just have some expensive scouts keeping an eye on things... but he has 2-3 galleys +1 trireme off the coast of one of my only island cities. ...... Also Frozen, the Spanish player just grabbed Liberalism with like 7 cities. Must be nice not having a shit civ to take care of. People going to have Rifles/infantry when i barely make it to guilds because this is the worst balanced/made map ive seen in a long time The most Balanced Map/Traits/Mod ever. I get that they wanted a world game. But DIETY? Without a mod that makes Pro not as shit, and FIN not the "lol i win" trait? Nah, that would be too hard...
Something to keep the lurkers entertained during this pitboss.

So at which point do you go all in? At what rate are you managing to replace your sacrifices?
I think they just always play on deity. I don't think it's a wise decision, but it's the house rules and it was communicated from the start, so frankly I don't see much reason to complain. Also apparently they never established an MP balance mod. There have been games with a heavy extra stuff mod called BASE (remember Krill's SMEG (?) from a few years ago? Like this times 10), but the rest of the 87 pitbosses apparently have been exclusively BTS. This game is technically modded (corp modifications), so maybe there would be more openness to that in the future. But here also a lot of people were recruited who played Civ4 until 10 years ago when they changed to 5, or never even played before, and it might be difficult to convince these folks to play a mod on top.

I plan on going in once i see him waste another couple catapults so i know i can survive without it just being... catapults alive.
Im basically replacing axes with WE's, so im really only losing about 1 unit per stack i throw.
They did have a poll to at least see if something other than deity is played, for what thats worth. Still dont see how deity is more fun to play on but /whatever. I complain to complain because i wasnt expecting this, i was honestly expecting from the beginning for it to basically be an Earth map PB. Which ive played DOZENS of times before via the map "EarthEvolution2" not with 50+ civs of course, but vs AI and i enjoyed it alot. I didnt feel like bowing out after everything... literally EVERYTHING went against me during this pitboss because frankly i havent bowed out of a pitboss yet ( unless im forgetting something.... )
I never played Krill's SMEG(?) i joined here right before pb38, and the only ONLY game i saw before playing pb38, was Sullla's various games on his website. I think between the not wanting to dip out, and my excitement to be in yet another pitboss are my reasons for now complaining a bit more. Also because i had no chance at all in my original form, and the chance that the Stalin player might have had was likely lost when he mismanaged his empire into the ground. So now im just kinda dicking around and maybe put another knocked out civ on my belt with India.
I mean no offense to our German Overlords/Mapmakers i truly dont, just frustrations from other pb's along with this one all boiling.
