I'm a bit surprised that you went ahead and founded on the silver. It doesn't look like that city will get threatened anytime soon, and 1NW would still create a canal. Would you have preferred that spot in retrospect? It grabs the sheep, but isn't on a hill of course.

He could actually get to the silver city in just 5 turns, with a chariot, so I am a little worried he'll attack it. I spent a long time debating whether this or 1NW would be better. This way I get the silver instantly, which I'll need in 2 turns. Also, it gives me a nice forest in front of the city to defend on. I'll build a fort in that forest, and it'll be almost invincible. Silver mines aren't that great, so I'm not too worried about losing it, and this way I can settle another city in the NW later.

Damn, Mackoti killed that vulture across the river with a chariot, and he didn't even take any damage. Oh well, guess i can't win them all.

One thing I just noticed is that, 2 turns ago, Mackoti had a large score increase (14 points). That means he must have researched a classical tech, which means he probably has HBR right now. The turn after that he got a 7 point increase, which could be archery, or just pop/land.

Nice battle, feel like showing off the list of attack odds?

I don't have any screenshots. After the first 50/50 battle with the chariots, I had about 65% odds in the next 3, and then 90%+ to clean up the remaining units. Promotions really made a big difference here- I'm glad I built that barracks in my capital.

Check the combat logs tab from the logs button in the top left.

Hm, so combat 1 vultures vs only 5% or no fortification bonus axes, I guess? (Or oh, did you take city raider?)

The problem is, I'm supposed to avoid logging in when it's not my half of the turn. I can do it, but I have to take screenshots of everything, in case I have to prove that I didn't move anything. It's easier to just not log in.
First it was a combat 1 chariot with about 3.0 strength against his 10% fortified axemen, then a city raider vulture against his 5% fortified axemen, and then a combat 1 vulture against an unfortified axemen. I used to have two more combat 1 vultures, but they both died last turn from his chariots . But now I can promote the city raider and combat vultures.

Ah, that's okay then. Good luck with the war.
