Can you lay out your calculations? I just woke up, so I'm probably slow, but I don't understand the 105 hammers. 20 + 20 (two chops with Mathematics) x 1.5 (Industrious bonus) = 60, right?

It looks like this turn it would grow and add 4 hammers for 14 on the aqueduct, then triple-whip (it can't this turn) to finish it with 7 overflow, then add four chops for 120 hammers into the wonder (with the Ind. bonus), plus 5 hammers from tiles (max. hammers), 12 with the overflow, multiplied to 18 for 138 hammers into the wonder after three turns (if all chops can be completed in that time). (The Hanging Gardens costs 201.) Am I right?

I'll hold off on finishing my turn until we hammer down our HG-plan since as HAK mentioned it might involve a major whip on my part (half Courcelette's population).

aren't the chops 35 hammers each?

though based on OH's post I agree that it will be best if we can get two more cities before we finish it. so if I'm wrong on the chops it doesn't really matter.

if they see our big whip next turn and they don't do one within a turn or two then I'd bet they decided to go a different route.

Chops are 20 with Mathematics on Quick speed. I'll finish my turn without whipping Courcelette, then.

Er, there was some sort of connection error. I'll try again later.

I think I need to get libraries up. My gnp is fifth and half the leader's at 100%, and I'm supposed to be our research-civ.

Here are my cities after end-of-turn:

Er, I guess I forgot I have two new cities now as well. But they're nothing to look at yet.

Actually building city 4 sooner might be good - it can grow cottages for VR.

THH I think you want to be chopping those Courcelette forests into settlers so the cities can be up before HG. Is it too late to suggest that?
Reply

it's too late for that since both cities will complete a settler in 2 turns. plus no workers nearby.

maybe one settler to his #4 and the other to found that desert city to be gifted to me. then I complete the HG. that will only delay the HG by a turn or two.

FYI I will send a worker to him after it finishes hooking up the copper

Yeah, all my three workers are over at the new cities. And thank you for the coming worker!
