New FFH2 PBEM?

Good.

Your actions say otherwise...

Not my fault. Tasunke was the one who was gone for a long period of time...

(April 15th, 2015, 12:01)Kragroth Wrote: 4. Old Lion would only play when you fail to play during your window.

5. Your play window is very tight. It butts up against Tasunke and Sauruman and Ellimist very close in time. So some play relief if the window fails is warranted.

My play window will be changing. More info on that after I start my two new jobs...

During the evaluation week where we gave you one last chance you were unable to meet the turn per day rhythm for any of your games and failed to turn the save for ffh41 within 24 hours. If you were unable to meet this during the week that you knew you were being evaluated, I don't have confidence that the situation will change when your track record is not being actively checked.[/quote[

I more than kept up with a turn every-other day, which was the minimum standard you set. Your watching me in no way affected my availability- I play when I am able, watching me does not change that.

[quote='Kragroth' pid='535975' dateline='1429117302']7. Yes. No one is perfect and delays happen. I have been the cause of delay before as have others. However, the issue before us is your record. And while you dispute it, I hear no one else agreeing with you; in fact the opposite.

I have the e-mails to validate my record. I've said this before, and I'll say it again- your *perception( of a thing an the reality of that thing are a different matter entirely. Trust me, I saw more than enough of this in science (I am a published biologist) and I see more than enough of this in medicine (from volunteering, shadowing doctors, attending seminars about medical subjects, etc.)

Kragroth, with all due respect, you are *not* in charge of either of the multi-person PBEM games (in fact, technically *I* started this PBEM). You have no authority to request I give up my passwords for either of them.

(April 15th, 2015, 12:01)Kragroth Wrote: 9. I am now telling you a third time to send your password and strategy to old lion and to work with him! If you fail to do this by midnight central time tonight, I'm going to ask the community what should be done with you!

You're not in charge here in this PBEM (technically, if anyone is, that's me). Same goes for PBEM39 (that would be Q- although I *strongly* doubt he would disagree with you). If Old Lion wants to know my strategy, he should get in contact with me- I'm not going to force the issue. He seems reluctant to jump onboard with this, and you have no right to force this down everybody's throats...

I cleared the minimum standard you set for every game except my duels with Mardoc and Aurorarcher (this one doesn't count, as Tasunke created a huge multi-day gap that brought down the sample size massively). So these are the *only* games you have the right to ask me to relinquish my passwords for... However didn't you say you still don't have a partner for me for the duels? I thought Old Lion only wanted to take over the multi-person PBEM's?

Confirm that Old Lion wants to take over these games, and tell me how to change my password to something other than what it is currently set to (I use the same password for a number of my PBEM's, and am *not* giving over the password for the ones I met your standard for just yet...) and I will consider giving over the password for those games *after* I have had the chance to confer about strategy and have decided that my new partner's aims would be compatible with my own... I am not giving over the password to somebody I think will disrupt my strategy.

If you want to be a military doctor you should probably continue going to PT, polish your resume, and apply to every job, internship, and research position you can possibly qualify for. Please take care of your career and personal life so that you can have time for fun.

What do you think I've been up to with my real-life time? Why do you think I haven't been prioritizing gaming in my schedule?

It's pretty simple and very similar to the way it's set in the first place; go to Player Details (or something similar) in the menu and that will have all the details of the civ in there including the password (which is represented by a string of asterisks). Just type the new password over the asterisk and then accept the changes and it's done. This is also where you can change civ & leader names, etc.

Based on comments from other players, it that you are way behind in playing your duels and some of your other games. Based on your comments it seems that you have some personal troubles too.

Would you be open to having a partner who can play at times that you can't?

Kragroth,

Thanks for thinking of me and for the offer to find a partner for me, but I have hope that things will get better soon. I'll let you know if I change my mind about the offer in the future- but I'd like to try sticking it out a little longer despite all the stuff that is going on...

I can be a little patient. Let's reassess in one week. The standard is one turn a day for each duel game and turning in a multiplayer game within 24 hours. Let's see how well you can achieve that.

You were unable to meet these conditions. Your opponents have all testified to this. There is no valid dispute to this that you have put forth

Old Lion has testified via pm and the forum that he is willing. I have pmed and posted consistently for you to initiate the contact.

" Northstar please send Old Lion Your password and strategy for eitb 39 and ffh 41. Please work together to help ensure a 1 turn / day rhythm. Let me know when this is done."

" Your FFA games will not continue forever at this pace. Your opponents are not happy with it.

A partner or partners will allow you to still play while keeping your opponents happy and maintaining a chance to win. My intention is that this partner or partners will only play after your play window is over. This really is a win win for everyone.

Please send your passwords and general strategy for your FFA games to Old Lion. Please work with him to ensure a timely turn pace and to win!"

Follow Dreylin's instructions for password change.

I can offer no one to assist with your duels because none has stepped up to volunteer. I have not been successful in getting a yes response so far.

Well, the duels are where I need the help Kragroth. I made a mistake by entering into the tournament. Without them I could probably keep up with the multi-person PBEM's, and given a choice between the two I would choose the multi-person PBEM's any day...

So, where you have authority to assign me a partner (the duels) I'm willing to interview any potential partners, see how I mesh with strategy, and then decide. But with the PBEM's I insist on sticking it out. The expected standard was 1 turn/day, but you implied in other communications that you wouldn't force a partner unless I fell below 0.5 turns/day. I did *not* fall below that in EitB39, and we don't have a large enough sample size to judge anything at all for PBEM41, where the delays have been mostly due to Tasunke's late absence anyways...

Why doesn't Old Lion come and delurk me for these games? He must have remained unspoiled for him to be considered as a potential partner... I'd be much more willing to accept him as a partner if he dedlurked me a bit first and I saw how he thinks first-hand, especially if I end up not being able to keep up at least 0.5 turns/day in the future (although I'll of course be aiming for >1 turn/day) and decide I actually need a partner...

I have been in a car accident. I'll be late with the turns today. My apologies for the delays.

Ouch... Sorry to hear that! I hope you're not hurt Kragroth!

Would it be OK if I prayed for you?

Thank you all. I'm exhausted. I don't think I'll make it. This one's on me.

Northstar, you are once again responsible for holding up the turn.

1 full turn per day for all players is the expected norm. FFH-41 has consistently failed to achieve that despite being in the earliest stages of the game(when turns take the least amount of time to play.) As Kragoth has pointed out, we have averaged over 3 days per turn and games with such a terrible pace are very unlikely to finish at all.

So. Old Lion reports that he does not have your password. You have a few options now. Either (a) start playing your turns reliably within your timeslot, and notify the rest of us on the rare occasions you are unable to. Or (b) share your password with another player(presumably Old Lion) who can fill in for you and keep the turns moving when you are unable to play them on time. If you can do neither of these, option © is the last resort, which will involve cracking your password without your consent and replacing you entirely.

We're trying to be reasonable here, but if you are unable/unwilling to play within your timeslot I must insist that you allow someone else to do so for you.

18 hours isn't holding up the turn- especially when I'm currently working on playing through all my PBEM's as I write this...

Your lack of understanding is.... regrettable. You say absolutely nothing in the way of anger or annoyance when a player like Tasunke holds up the game for several days, but when I manage to hold up the turn for less than 24 (I had a busy day- a funeral, two meetings, etc...) it becomes a dire issue...
