A stab at UCiv:
Draft to UCiv Wrote:UniversCiv,
Hey guys, checking in again. Never heard back from you on our last email about Open Borders, so I figured I'd drop you a line to pester you again . Do you guys have any interest in Open Borders and/or Non-Aggression Pacts? I know we're quite some distance from each other, but even a simple NAP can be nice to build some trust for later in the game when the world feels a little "smaller." Anyways, just let me know what your thoughts are when you get a spare minute.
Thanks!

When do they (UniversCiv) typically play? If nothing else, maybe we can ping them in game and ask if they have received our messages. Scooter, your proposed message is fine by me.

From Apolyton:
Quote:Hi, thanks
Unortunately we have made an agreement with our trade partner about not trading our maps further unless both parties agree, at least for the next 50 turns.

Hmm...I wonder who that trade partner is.

Apolyton is giving wheat to civFr for free, so that's a likely candidate. But hey, lets just ask. (and do it quickly, informally, like its not a big deal.)

We can lend you one of our workers to remove the jungle. We only need your knowledge of this new sharp metal able to cut down jungle.
Would you reconsider the spice & chop deal with this addon ?
Our marble will be ready in about 7 turns.

The worker-lend-for-chop sounds great to me.
Is 7 turns too late? I'm not sure what our timeframe is here precisely - if we need to sweeten the deal to get them to speed it up.

7 turns is a little slow (we finish Lib t130 and it's currently t125). They also said "about" and there are always one-off errors. So it would be best to ask for an exact turn number.
I don't think we have any objections to chopping their gems with their own worker. I'm not sure if we're talking about the same gems (the ones we saw are pretty far from their territory still), but we can sort that out after we've agreed to the deal.

Never mind, just saw in the other thread that they have a settler heading to those gems that are currently far from their territory. So it must be the same gems then.

If it's seven turns from now then we'd have to build wealth for a couple of turns to make sure the whip overflows benefit from the multiplier. So shaving off 1 or 2 turns would be very useful. If that's not possible then we'll have to make do.
I don't really see a downside of being lent workers to chop a jungle tile unless there's a demogame rule about unit gifting?

Actually the t125 is with the new turn roll, so they might have been counting from t124 when they said that. So we should ask for an exact turn number.
