FYI, I have offered the German team spices and gems in-game as part of our agreement. Don't go offering them more sources or we'll lose our own copies.
This might be a good time to write them back with a thank you message, and let WPC know about the deal.

We offered them in separate trades, right?

I thought the deal was we would give spices when they gave marble. Maybe we should send them a note saying we decided to send spices early to be nice. Since we have apparently done that.

yeah I was wondering that too. oh well, no harm as long as they follow through with the marble.

Yeah we only offered the gems immediately, spices was not going to go to them until we made a straight spices-for-marble trade. Also we definitely want to make sure they're not offered together so we can still cancel them separately. We'll definitely want to write them back and just make it sound like a sign of goodwill or something, but I didn't really want to have to explain to WPC why we were gifting not one but TWO sources of happy.

We need to work out the worker switch too. Ie, ask when will they get the gems in their borders, so we can move one of our workers around Ditchdigger in that direction. We can probably road towards the tile and pre-chop some of our jungle in the interim.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

Draft 1:
Draft to CivPlayers Wrote:Decebal,
Great, thanks! Just to clarify, you're still good with maintaining the rolling 10T cooldown right? Just thought I would check .
I'd be happy to fill in some geographical gaps for you.
<fill in here>
Would someone who logs into the game frequently mind writing up the geographic stuff? I'm pretty busy right now, and I don't really have the time to log into the game and make sure I've got everything straight. Just a basic rundown of people we haven't told them about (anyone who isn't a direct neighbor of us) and their direction/distance would be great.
Draft 2:
Draft to GWT Wrote:GWT,
Great! Looking forward to the marble hookup. We went ahead and sent the spices now too. If you don't mind, let us know whenever you're going to lend the worker for the gem chop. We will move the worker carefully of course, but we'll be counting on you to protect the worker from barbs while it's chopping since it's your worker.
Thanks,
scooter - Team RB
Pretty simple.
Draft 3:
Draft to WPC Wrote:WPC,
Just wanted to give you guys a heads up. We cut a deal with the German team in order to get marble - we're trading them spices for marble, and we're giving them a 10T gems loan while we wait for them to hook the marble. We had a slight miscommunication with our turn player, so we actually gave them the spices prematurely. We wanted to get you in the loop here so you understood why it may appear that we are "gifting" them happy resources right now. We're not just giving them happy, they will be giving us marble in return soon.
What the German team doesn't realize is we will use this marble to get some really important stuff completed (like Heroic Epic) so we can build strong units really fast for the upcoming war . Hope you don't mind, it'll help our common war in the long run. Let me know if you need anything from me!
Thanks,
scooter - Team RB
I don't know that I want to tell them we're about to Lib Nationalism just yet. I'd rather people wait a little longer to fully realize we're about to pull that off. There's no way they'll know we already have Heroic Epic built, so that seems like a plenty plausible excuse, and I left the door open for other stuff. This one is tricky, so opinions on this draft especially would be great.

Maybe emphasize to WPC that we are gifting the gems in exchange for a speedier marble hookup. Not sure if we want to give up that much info though.
Also maybe be a bit more vague when referencing the HE, since if they have vision on HF and look at the city they'll see the wonder there (I know they didn't explore HF, but map trading is available now). Not sure if that is remotely likely enough for us to care.

Yeah this crossed my mind, but they'd have to 1) luck into our maps via map trading in a world where most people still don't have paper and 2) be smart enough to look for the specific building in every one of our cities. Considering the, um, questionable abilities of this team, I figure the chances of both of those things happening are microscopic.

why not just say "the epics." that would imply heroic epic, but if they do somehow bust us, we can still claim we meant national epic.
