RB Pitboss #1 SPOILERS - Mansa Musa of Spain

Just wondering from the screenshots, does Madrid have fresh water?

I would say, to get lots of views, make lots of posts with interesting thoughts or information in each of them. Better to have a series of five quick posts to say the same thing as one long one. This is a general rule of site popularity.

To get more lurker responses, I don't know what works best, but asking questions is always good, as is posting controversial dotmaps and the like. My one comment on the dotmap you've made so far though is that I'd want to see more of what lies in the fog. Placement of red and blue should depend on what's to the north and west, and that could impact placement of green and white as well.

I read pretty much everything that gets posted in every thread. However, I'm hopelessly spoilered on this map, so I don't feel comfortable providing much in the way of feedback. (I worry that by offering advice, I'm consciously or unconsciously suggesting things that are affected by my spoiler knowledge.) For instance, I could answer all of your Demographics questions, but how much of that is me reading the numbers, and how much is reading the other spoiler threads? I don't know, and it makes my head hurt... lol

To attract attention, just keep posting screenshots and talking about your plans for the future. That's all I've ever done with my succession games, and they always seemed to attract readers.

As a fairly classic case of a lurker, I'd say that a lot of it is willing not only to put up pictures (solid blocks of text aren't terribly appealing), but to have a more interactive type of post, ask for other people's thoughts, and posit multiple approaches/ideas on what something could be, etc. People are more willing to give their ideas or thoughts if they have a base to start from.

As for Sullla, I think it helps that he has a bit of a reputation from the first succession thread that you did with Sirian, as well as his website, but in any case he is right. (any plans to do more civ4 on your website btw?)

I like screenshots and general musing. Lots of add n to x calculations leave me cold, so I like your style, sunrise, though I would appreciate smaller screenshots to avoid scrolling back & forth.

I'd also suggest your 'misunderestimating' your win chances, seeing as hammer is bound to occur at some point.

When the Apolyton Demogame finishes, there will be a fairly substantial writeup on that. I don't feel a huge desire to play Civ at the moment, because I'm getting my fix from that game. But until it finishes, I can't post anything publically about an ongoing game.

Apologies for the off-topic nature of this post.

T9 - Buddhism FIDL, right about on schedule. I'm on track for Hinduism in 2 turns, barring anyone beating me there. I also have the lowest score, suggesting I'm the only civ to have neither grown nor learned a tech frown

T10 - No FIDL message, so I will at least be in a coin-flip situation for the wonder.

I've discovered yet more seafood:

Based on Imhotep's (spoiler) comment that he hasn't found much food, and my theory that we're on a map with 11 islands, my guess is that most of the food is offshore and Imhotep sent his scouting unit away from the coast.

No pics because when I was at my civ PC this forum was down.

That said, important news - I have discovered Polytheism, founded Hinduism, adopted the religion, jumped to top position in score, and grown my capital to size two.

I have swapped production to a worker, due in 12 turns.

The tech path is an open question. Agriculture takes 6 turns, hunting 6, mining 7, and bronze working 16. Those techs will all be in the queue. After those are researched will come animal husbandry, the wheel, pottery, and masonry+monotheism, again not necessarily in that order.

I think the best tech path is agriculture -> mining -> bronze working -> masonry, so my worker is never idle and so I grow as quickly as possible. This will also let me have a decent stab at Stonehenge, since at pop 4 I will be working my food tile and several grassland mines. However hunting allows me to hook up my Ivory, which is a 2/2/3 (!) tile. What do you lurkers think?

That is some niiice lands you've got there. With that, the religion and the best traits I think you're a strong early contender.
