Me and Cynehead have done the exact same MM, even though we settled different tiles...I think he move SE, then east to farm the corn, but after that either moved back to mine or farmed the tile to the north.

Slaved out worker 2 this turn, chop due next turn. Slightly screwed up the worker MM...or rather never sorted it out in the first place. Still, grow back to size 2 in 1 turn

Krill Wrote:Notes: the map looks food resource poor, BUT the floood plains make up for that to some extent. Because it is a mirror game, one question that I askis: why should we have awesome land? All awesome land with Joao would do is make teching easier. This land will make it harder to press expansion and tech at the same time (limited forests slowing expansion), which makes me think that it is a very good starting area for the type of game that we want to play.

For the lurkers, I created and verified the map for this game. I did no editing, just rolled maps as per Krill's parameters (huge, mirror, tropical, etc) other than rolling about 10 maps until finding one with decent-but-not-awesome starts. The Mirror script does not do start normalization, so it's easy to find yourself in a terrible mess of jungle or tundra.

This sort of game would be 10x better IMHO via pitboss, especially when the first 50 turns could be played in a single hour. Connection and coordination issues are trivial with only two players.

A PBEM save can be loaded for a Direct IP game, so you don't even need a pitboss host. I believe the turns are still sequential. Would you two consider doing that to knock through a few dozen turns?

I think you picked well, T-hawk, and Cyneheard made a good decision to take small lakes instead of wide continents. I didn't really do much other than propose the game type.

We are already at turn 25, and this evening my internet connection has knocked itself out once already.

We also have the previous saves for checking out demographics data...

However, I didn't know that it could be loaded as a Direct IP game. Could we do it? Sure, but it doesn't exactly save all that much time.
