Yeah, in the end Flauros is a giant mushing sack of synergies that pops out swarms of regenerating commando 3-movers that can summon spectres. A tad too powerful in base FFH, everything in his power is geared towards getting already overpowered units online.

If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.
I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.
I'm sure someone will step in and correct me here, but from memory Flauros has only ever been played in full diplo games, where being regarded as strong is generally a good way to get dogpiled and/or rushed, so I'm not sure that's really strong evidence against vampiric OPness

My meta knowledge in FFH is super-old (I had no idea the clowns were strong), but I still like the Lanun. God mode early teching+food is still a nice advantage. Yes they don't get a production buff like the vamps or elvis, but are they really at that much of a production disadvantage relative to most civs?

The Lanun don't suffer any penalties for working land tiles. They just have massive bonuses working the coasts. The only reason their production suffers is because of opportunity costs. |
