Quick question: do i want to create the kingdom of Aquitaine as a title? Or is having 2 kingdom titles a bad idea?

French Dukes will covet, plot, demand the title and revolt to try and get it. It's not a bad idea in itself, it'll just add a layer of complication.

Wait until we've got the Empire of Hispania? That shouldn't be too far away.

That question got put on the back burner when the pope declared crusade for Aquitaine. We held off the initial wave (incudes HRE) and now it's time to re-raise the levies and go on the offensive with 60k troops

Sounds like a lot of fun. Nice work.

Is it really worth it to go on the offensive against a crusade? Do you actually gain anything besides prestige? Or do you mean you're declaring a counter-war?

You make the participants loose huge amounts of prestige/piety potentially imploding their realms. You also make Christianity loose moral authority causing more heresies to spring up and thus weakening it long term.

Also, piety and plunder from fighting religious enemies. Always helps wink

Also, going on the offensive ends the war a lot sooner; we're not getting to 100% Warscore from battles alone.
