Theoretically, I finish IW eoT45, settling T46 so yeah, after IW the city goes down so I can still alter course at any point if the new information changes things drastically. The settler would likely spend the turn on either the silk tile, the cow, or the plains forest hill depending on where I figure iron is most likely to spawn. I will have roads extending to the north and south so I have a large range where I can settle for iron. If it doesn't pop up, then I can settle for either of the coppers to the south, and hte road on the sheep kinda fits into most settling locations except for on either copper.

IW lands on turn roll, but I may not be around to play then. Going to see Craig Charles perform tonight. I'm hoping the other players pull their thumbs out and the turn rolls early but I doubt that happens.
I'm also last in score but IW, new city and pop growth due in all cities should put me back in the middle of hte pack. AH or Archery next depending on iron location, but AH would be due T50 and Archery T48.

Although the downside of telling me I have no iron is probably that I'm going to end black out drunk miles from home in a rather expensive bar. That was risky of me...

Pleased?

New, updated world map with iron location. You will note that the iron south of the capital is the only one that I can see. The map is also pockmarked with signs showing one possible dot map. The only two cities I know I want now are the southern marble and gems city locations and that is what I'm spending my time for this game working on.
The plan right now is to settle the two southern cities for marble and then for the gems. This works because TheWannabe has settled his second city for the copper and can't settle further north without planting minimum distance with my cities, and I now have iron and AGG swords. He is Joao and slow to three cities. He doesn't want to do that because he will just get destroyed. He hasn't even hooked his copper yet. He doesn't want to settle for the gems area because it's all jungled, and he has other things to do like settling for his horse. I may be able to get to 5 cities before he does. The gems city gets me more happy resources but also stops TheWannabe from settling another front city west of his copper city, it would instead have to be directly west of his capital. I'd be claiming an awful lot of land, but for him to approach my cities he would have to walk along flatland, and all my cities would be on hills. A very defensible position from which I can develop before returning to try and conquer him.
To plant those two cities, I need 3 workers minimum but 4 is preferred, plus I need to mine a bunch of hills for the capital and third city. The timing for the plan is this:
TX: move settler and cover units onto marble.
TX+1: settle fourth city, move 2 workers to tile south west.
TX+2: road with two workers SW of fourth city, move workers 3 and 4 to deer tile, move minimum 2 spears to cover.
TX+3: Workers 3 and 4 road, move 1 spear and settler onto plains hill.
TX+4: settle fifth city, 4 workers improve deer.
What tiles get roaded before this, such as the wet wheat for the fourth city is up in the air, but ideally I can sink spare worker turns into the wheat.
I need a minimum of 2 spears to cover the units at the start, but I would have to immediately reinforce with an additional spear and axe, and then 2 archers afterwards. That's 70 hammers worth of military by the start, with an additional 70 hammers arriving during those four turns. I already have the workers either built or in production, but the settlers have to be double whips out of Neu Crapital and Joeys fault. Still, that means I have three different priorities to balance just with continued expansion, and that ignores the development of third city.
The micro for the third city probably defines what has to occur: it's stealing the pig from next turn, and granary completes eoT47. It grows eoT49, then eoT52 because that iron can be worked, finishing a barracks eotT53 when it picks the cow back up. It can then either single whip a unit, or more likely it would double whip at size 4 but due to difficulty of only putting 4 hammers into a spear, I think I more likely just grow it to size 5 and then hammer out units. At size 5 it would just use the stolen pig, iron, two grass hills from NC and the plains hill mine for 16hpt and throw out the units I need, but that would finish spears eoT57 and T59 which is much later than I would otherwise have hoped. The barracks would be nice though for the promotion, but I can't really delay for that. A whipped settler at size 4 would finish either T58 or T59 depending on if third city kept the cow. An archer would finish eoT56, and then a spear or archer eoT58. All units take 3 turns to reach the marble hill.
Second city keeps the pig for this turn, but then two turns warriors. I can't hook the iron before T50, but that gives me 2 warriors for the north to fogbust. If I hooked iron after that, I could finish a spear eoT54 and then a settler eoT58 with one forest chop used, eoT60 without. Again slower than I would like. Just going warrior>warrior>settler completes the settler eoT56, which is a hell of a lot better. But still lacks defensive units for cover.
Capital is straightforward though. Use the cow to regrow to size 4 eoT50, and then finish the worker eoT52. The ivory is hooked T53 using the fourth worker and one of the other workers, and then both workers split to mine the two overlapping hills. As this involves chopping a forest, a settler can be double whipped on T56, and arrives at the marble site T58.
Because the settler takes time to travel, it makes sense to rush hook the iron, and go spear>settler in the second city. That spear is the sole defensive unit to cover the marble hill settler until the archer comes from third city to relieve the spear to further defend the roading workers. The two workers need cover though, so I just need to get more military.
Fuck, this needs more time than I can give it.
