[SPOILERS] Lewwyn frees slaves in Lincoln's Ethiopia

You know the real winner in all of this is Mackoti. Moogle and I spend 8 turns fighting each other. He gets marble for taj when I cut Moogles Iron, not to mention incense and spices. Additionally I'm so beat up I can't swing at him. he can tech up. Get to rifles probably get to Taj.

The reason I lost to Moogle was my rushing I made careless mistakes and I really pushed the war. I tried to do too much, split my army too much. Didn't wait to attack all at the same time. I was worried about Mackoti and my 10 turn peace time limit. I wanted to get as much as I possibly could from Moogle and get a quick peace. Obviously that didn't work out. I was pushing because I needed to catch up to Mackoti. I'm still 3-4 cities behind him. I still don't know for sure what will happen but I'm betting on Mackoti pulling this out. I feel a great deal as though I'm fighting for 2nd place at this point. Which is fine. Mackoti has played a great game. Moogle just did a great job on defense.

So now I'm just attempting to leverage PHI into another GP other than a scientist. I got a sci on my last pop. 50% odds for scientist and 50% fro something else. That was a back breaker. if I had gotten something other than a sci I could have started a GA and possibly popped off a GE in another city/ and or built a tone more Curis. Oh well, maybe I can grab the GM from economics. I think Mackoti has put a lot of beakers into it but hasn't popped it. I think he's saving it as a 1T tech so he can pop it when he wants. Dunno if I can sneak it out.

Yeah, I'm not surprised Moogle accepted peace. He's not very aggressive. mackoti getting Marble sucks...but wait, he didn't have marble himself?

Okay, Last turn I had a settler headed for my South position:

Also going for the GM in Economics. Pretty much keeping even with Mackoti depends on getting the GM and a GA. It opens up a ton of options for me.

Yay! I got the GM.

Now I can start a GA next turn, switch into Burea, Caste, Mercantilism. I'll try to pop another 2 GP during the GA as well. Hopefully I can tech up to rifles quickly (I should check how long that will take). But I need the rifles to make sure Mackoti can't overrun me. And maybe make another run at Moogle?? Because that worked out awesome last time. rolleye

The thing is that Mackoti is going to tech rifles and attack Nakor, conquer him and then use his land to tech up and hit whichever victory condition he would like. I on the other hand will either have to attack Mackoti or Moogle. which will be infinitely harder than taking out Nakor who unfortunately is not technologically advanced enough, nor is he a great commander. (Personal experience in PBEM 6, Nakor did not move troops to reinforce cities, nor truly counter attacked as Seven overran him.)

At least I got the GM and I can keep putting up a fight.

Macks got Rifles. I'm trying to get 2 GP to pop during this golden age so I can start another GA if I have to. Racy Thigh is going to pop a GE or GM end of next turn. Cap is going to pop again after that. Probably at 65-70% chance for a Scientist which I would rather be a GA, GM, or GE depending on what pops next turn.

Also teching to rifles. Replaceable parts is 2T at deficit.

I'm in Rep, Bureaucracy, Caste and Mercantilism and Free religion right now. Mackoti's power is rising and I'm really hoping he picks on Nakor first. lol

Okay I promised an update! This one will have Chills and Thrills!

First a note on the overall state of the game. Mackoti is going to win. I've said it before, but he's taking Nakor out. 3 cities down already and no peace treaties this time. So should I attack Mackoti? I think I may and I think I will take Grenoble from him, but beyond that I don't have much hope. His miltary has spike hugely, he's in Nationhood and he's drafting Rifles like they're going out of style. And they probably are given:

So lets rewind just a bit. Last we checked in With Lewwyn was T134... HOLY CRAP I am far behind.

Here's the oldest picture I have from T137:

Yeah I'm at Rifles. in 1 turn at that point. Moogle, as you can see, is 1 turn from Replaceable parts. AT this point I'm seriously considering Declaring war right before he gets rifles and using my Curis to go straight at Another time which only has 4 longbows.

You can see Moogle has Rifling in 1 turn. I would attack here but Moogle's culture has taken over the hill tile SE of the rice SE of Another TIme. You can see the tile I mean on the pic above this one. Without that tile I can reach the city the turn I declare. Additionally Scout's Honor is completely isolated from me surrounded by Moogle's culture. I'm staying in Caste System so I am running artists in both Scout's honor and Upturned Nose.

Go go GM! I need it for the 3rd GP to start another GA... Though right now I'm wondering whether using the GP for other things might be better than mushing 3 together for a GA. I guess it will depend. I just want to make sure I have the 3 if I need it...

Okay back to Moogle, T141:

Moogle has Rifling. I have 3 cav + 1 up aways north and a curi in Skinned Shin. In Extended Knee I have a galley with 2 drafted rifles in it. This turn I moved 3 workers onto the hill SE of Snowboarding which only has a Longbow and a chariot in it. Please do not get suspicious.

This turn T142, and he is simply not paranoid enough:

I road the hill, Declare war, send two cav in to clean up Snowboarding which is now "Broken Back." I send the galley over and unload 2 rifles onto the worker on the iron hill. I bring the rest of the curi and cavs up behind. Moogle's closest city is 6 tiles away so he'll need a bunch of knights there (Which I don't think he has down here in the south). So yeah I'm going to put the two rifles into the city bring the pike and cat up behind and buckle down.

I sent Moogle a peace treaty offer. The only thing I asked for was 150 gold. XD I was going to ask for a white peace but I decided I wanted SOMETHING. I want peace, then I want to tech Astro and run a couple Galleons up into the underbelly of Moogle's land. That will be sweet if I can pull it off. I'm currently teching Steam power.

I think Moogle will accept. He just switched into Nationhood this turn, but:

I've got an edge and he can't break any of my cities (including Scout's Honor. I was able to take the tile SE of the city so I can reinforce it, there are rifles there now. And I pillaged the only road leading to Scout's honor from the West.) Please accept peace.

If he accepts I'm going to turn and attack Mackoti's Grenoble. That's the only city he has that is vulnerable.

BytheBy. Gleaming Eye (my HE city) is churning out 1 7XP Cav per turn. And has been since I got rifling. If Moogle doesn't accept peace I will attempt to attack Another time as well put some pressure in the south, mostly it will be a cautious and not very heated effort. He can draft rifles and there's no point in pushing anymore. I've grabbed the low hanging fruit. Let's hope he decides he doesn't want an extended war.

Indeed and I'm in Caste so I can pop borders with artists after the city stops revolting. I have time since I still need to tech Astro, and I'm hoping Moogle signs the peace treaty.
