I guess it was 11 Stables, must always be the same. Let's see HAs are 34H so that's 374H vs. 11F/turn. That's 17 turns before the food gets ahead if you go 1F = 2H. I think taking the HA might have been more fun, but the food was probably the better choice smile.

This is Standard speed so they aren't that good. Stables are 60H and HAs 50H so payback time is ~25-30T if calculating 1F=2H, but I still think it was worth the effort especially when I've pretty few food resources and cities are growing quite slowly.

That's a tough choice, but 11 unpromoted horse archers really isn't that great, unless you have a real army ready to accompany it. How many unpromoted HA would it take to kill a couple spears/praets in a city. Probably all 11. At best, they could have made a nice defense force to allow you to focus on other builds, but 11 food per turn (for the rest of the game?) is probably a better bonus. Building 11 stables is quite the opportunity cost, though. Will you be building mounted units now?

I've run out of space and I won't have good enough economy to compete as is, so the plan is to be building mounted units. Currently the most likely scenario is that I build few HAs now for defensive purposes and then go all in with Knights when I get to Guilds. Alternatively I could also just slow build a big army of Knights on while focusing on teching towards Cuirassiers/Cavalries and upgrade them.

I just converted to Hereditary rule + Vassalage. I'm getting a Great Person that is either Engineer or Scientist. In case it is engineer, I'll bulb Machinery and Scientist is spared to partially bulb Astronomy i.e. my current goals are Guilds and Astronomy. I'll first pick Construction and build some supportive/defensive cats.

Few shots from the turn that is just about to end. And guess who is back playing the normal First in - Last out game wink.

Commodore/Xenu have lost 2 cities to Parkin. I'll check, if I can make some easy gains. In the southern part of their territory so I'll whip those HAs out next turn. Yeah - Having those 11 HAs now would have been very helpful so I made a mistake there.

Another matter is that I'm starting to get paranoid concerning LP's activity. You remember when ASM accused LP of modifying his firewall settings to prevent ASM to log in on in the beginning of the critical turn. Well today it turned out that I couldn't conncet to Lord Parkin while he was in right after the turn roll. Then when he logged out I got in and he was able to sign in to me without problems. It is still more likely that we had some internet glitch, but I haven't had much connection issues with Parkin earlier and the circumstances (probably critical turn for Commodore) here look a lot similar they were with ASM case. I guess we can never know for certain so game on, but I'm starting to feel again that this concept was a huge mistake.
