I have to call BS. There's no way it's going to start up again so locking it for a month or two is the same as locking it forever. This is just a meaningless gesture. Accept the flamewar or don't but don't tell me we had other options because we didn't.

I actually found out it was locked while writing a reply, but at this point I forget what it even was. I suspect it's a conversation still worth having since CFC still doesn't seem to understand the concept of setting up a fair game.

Really? You yourself asked for the thread to be locked. Okay....! And of course there were other options but if you want to just argue with people all you have to do is go to any elementary school, pick a random child, find out what they're interested in, and then tell them that thing sucks. You're primed for at least an hour of back and forth "yes it does"/" no it doesn't!", which is approximately the level we had reached in this thread when you asked for it to be locked. I don't know which was the better option in retrospect but I suspect arguing with children would have been both more fun and more productive. You're obviously free to disagree, since my meaningless gesture to reopen the thread.

I actually agree with locking the thread (I requested it!) but it still killed off the discussion. And if it killed off the discussion unlocking it doesn't really do anything. Even though it wasn't the real goal you don't get let off the hook for it. Your not taking responsibility for your actions.

Seriously, I don't think that will happen due to my like of interest in this site anymore. RB isn't interested in the Civ Series (edit: after civ4) and I don't have the time to play werewolf anymore. I'm sticking around due to AI survivor and Pitboss 18 but after that I'm done.

Other than actual spam accounts people don't really get banned here, at least I haven't seen it. I'm guessing it's because we never (rarely?!) get to the level of nuisance or abuse where banning is called for, happily. I'm certainly not going to do it over someone disagreeing with anything I posted, that would be abusive on my part.

Anyway, this thread wasn't the only place people could have talked about the ISDG if they wanted to. Starting a new thread is really easy. I'm guessing that since no one did it there just wasn't much interest in continuing the conversation at that point. Kind of like how we've reopened this thread and still no one is talking about the ISDG.
