[SPOILERS] naufragar, Charriu, and Zalson's Threepenny Opera

GG Nauf! I understand that you did not know how close RD was to our cap and I understand temptation to capture it, if our astro timing would have been few turns later you might have succeeded. From our perspective we thought that you are not that interested in the area (since you had not settled it by that time) and since it was closer to our cap than yours we did not feel that we were stepping too badly on your toes here. I have no bad feelings towards you and hope we end up playing PB again.

We also ment no disrespect with our first peace offer, just wanted to send something that gets your attention and we hoped you would send a reasonable counter. Should probably just sent a reasonable offer in first case.

Not at all! (In fact, neither did Mack or Rusten...)

You were very postive: Naufragar has now made it 2 for 2 with his "fight the putative favorite" move. I approve so very much, even if I have my doubts.

I had just read Rusten's then your thread back to back and worried I was getting a Don Quixote reputation.
This is all self-interest. I don't want the next game leader to know I'm going to shank them. wink

Ditto! Oh, I was not at all offended by the peace offer. There's a certain Homeric warrior ethos to these games: those with power have the right to vaunt. I hope you and Rusten know that despite my troll smilies, I have no ill will towards you. Playing to win means that you're gonna have to step on some toes. alright

No hard feelings at all. Entertaining thread as always and good luck in the next one.

Thanks for the great reporting. It was a fun ride as the buffer state between the major powers.

At some point you asked what went wrong in the early game, and while it's hard to tell just from quickly reading and glancing at screenshots I'm seeing some glaring inefficiencies. You're getting a lot of roads that could've been granary chops (or something else). By turn 54 you've hooked up the cows for no reason, which includes not only a road to the cows, but also a useless road on the hill next to it. We had 4 granaries by T50, you had none it appears.

Is there an easy formula to determine when to chop a granary vs other things first? Or is it just always the One-Right-Choice?

Just finished reading your thread, nice reporting!

Few things that I would like to comment. We did not want anything bad to you in that second war ( that's why we did not pillage nets before you hit Fruits ) but there was no way we could give 10t peace and watch Commonator use your area to hit our coast without being able to react. That's why we offered cease fire to show that you are not our enemy here.

We were wondering why you tried to hit Marine, but we did see it coming.

In first war we tried to force as many whips as possible from you and burn coast if possible, but our true target was BGN all the time. You had too compact empire and we would have taken big losses in hitting you. But after you burned Fruits and did not take immediate peace with us (when we had galleons and you did not ) we felt that we needed to slow your tech down as much as possible to get to frigates before you get to galleons, which worked nicely as you could not threaten our core. You were also usefull smokescreen to BGN. So that's why we had those galleons going around your empire and burned your city. Nothing personal, just something we felt we had to do.
