I don't know of anyplace in the world that would be safe if the U.S. sets itself on fire, but the move sounds exciting! Where in Ireland are you heading?

Actual Darrell, there isn't due to the Windsor agreement No internal border in the island of Ireland!
Good luck with the move, you still have to sort out shipping etc? (June 4th, 2024, 07:54)AdrienIer Wrote: Cool ! When are you moving ? One thing I did after my divorce nigh on 8 years ago is vow to not acquire stuff. Which I've pretty much accomplished; I can move with a couple of suitcases (I love an opportunity to use my favor smily). The real question is if I fly through London to somewhere else in the EU, can I avoid immigration? Cork's airport is not well serviced. Darrell
You're an American citizen. All flying you do in Europe you go through the (incredibly slow) third country line. Welcome to the club!

Actually, if you'd moved to just about anywhere else in the EU, you'd have been good due to the Schengen Area abolishing internal passport controls.
Yeah, I believe from Ireland to anywhere in the EU you avoid passport control (same as flying from New York to Florida).
Darrell
Ireland is not part of the Schengen Area. It does have border controls for flights to/from it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_Area
Ireland is part of the Common Travel Area with the UK, without border controls. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Travel_Area |
