[no players] Warsighs of the Newb: An Experiment in Lurking.

He's not Mackoti for 2 reasons:

(a) He's not running away with the game
(b) He's updating his thread

It's funny, because he turned up out of the blue, made Sulla's Locke smurf fit in, and started rolling everyone after being completely underestimated.

Difficulties with playing with Anonymous setting to hide which civ you are playing is that people can still figure out whom you are playing by when each civ plays the turn (ie European etc and then contrast to team compositions). Also only works in PB games, never a PBEM.

That said...would still be interesting to play with it on...

shouldnt be hard for a pbem, just set up a dupe gmail account, play at different times each day, etc.

I guess you're supposed to play the turn when you can and then have a setup to email it at a random time over the next 24 hours. The slowness would be terrible though. Not worth it.

Yeah, that's the point. PBEMs require almost perfect player composition just from the time zones to enable 1 turn/day, which is required to make sure the games don't die from inactivity. Doesn't fit with anonymity.

probably just play it instead of making this post you just made, which was didn't fall into that shift.

alternatively, you could just not sign up. not everyone falls into your schedule, and I didn't say it would be easy for every possible civ player.
