Just waiting on TW to play his turn, and hopefully accept peace.
I've been thinking about planting 1E of hte marble to get copper inner ring, but I can't really justify it. The "loss" of the 3 hammer plant delays all of the city improvements, such as barracks to pop borders so there is a real cost to opening up the marble tile to work, and the ice/fp tile for a cottage. The best reason for planting on that tundra hill, is that with sufficient culture pressure, it is possible to take a plains hill tile and open up a one move attack into TW second city. That would ideally put pressure on TW to invest into miltiary to hold that city that I could exploit later, but I don't think I'd be able to get enough culture into a fifth city to threaten his second city.
I'm sticking with the marble plant.

And turn split is over as TW accepted straight peace. I then settled gems city in his face and settle marble city next turn.

Start a new job, buy a house, LOL worlds streams to watch, things get complicated quickly. I've been neglecting the game!
Truth be told there isn't much to update other than new pictures. So here they are.
There have been no new lands uncovered, but this shows my somewhat slow development to 5 cities. I've removed the city locations on this excluding the next two city locations for silver and northern expansion. 8th city would be the true front city, and Adrien has yet to hook any of the resources to his south east.
I'm sending one scout to the south west. Next turn, if all goes well, it can kill a barb warrior and promote to sentry. I will use one warrior to fogbust to the west of my lands, limiting the need for further military except to grow on. I'm sending one warrior and the second chariot to the north to fogbust and scout towards Adrien respectively. I will also send an archer out of hte capital to the north. I only need to build a spear, otherwise I have everything except the workers and settlers to settle to the north west and then have secure borders. More on that later.
I'm not intending to whip any settlers out of NC for a short period. Finish the archer, overflow out the worker eoT65, hit size 5 and probably get a settler out then, or more likely another worker. I need to farm the corn for the silver city in time for the founding of the silver city on T72, plus have the roads in place for a trade route. Given I need 2 workers for the silver city, and a minimum of 2 workers for the road north, and four workers for the southern cities, that means I realistically have to build a further 2 workers here. The liklihood after that is I would whip a settler for the eighth city on the front with Adrien around T76.
The reason I'm so slow. I'm going to take the pig back on T65, whip the granary T66, and avoid growth T67, grow eoT68 and 69, build into another worker T70 and then double whip that T71. Building a spear whilst growing and probably overflowing the hammers into that spear to finally finish it around T80. I'm going to get a lot of 2 pop whips out of JF as I hiook up more happy res due to lack of good tiles to work.
I still think settling this city was the right choice. If I hadn't done that and gone for an early IW, I was running the risk of geting WC rushed. If I had risked it I would have gotten lucky with TW being a newbie, but that doesn't make what I did the wrong choice.
I was going to grow to size 7 but I don't see the point. Growing to size 6 eoT64 and then building a settler eoT69 for the silver city, and then further settler eoT75 and eoT80. That last settler I'm probably not going to build, but the T75 one I would for city 7 site on the world map. This worker will hook the pigs and then waste a turn to get to the northern hills at NC and then begin roading to the front cities under the protection of an archer and chariot.
FF will run a food deficit on T65, but as I'm not intending to grow to size 7 that soon, it seems worth while to boost growth in JF.
Deer hooked T64, growth eoT66, gems hooked T67 and barracks eoT69, growth @3 eoT71, granary whipped T73, grow back to size 3 eoT75. I figure I probably need to add a few units before then, so something needs to give.
Quick barracks to get to 20% borders then probably a few 4>2 whips to get out military or workers. Granary is worth whipping at size 2, and quite easily done with a base 4hpt at size 1 and the plains forest hill.
Behold the strongest military in the world. Not.
That CY is dreadful. The gems and silver hook up in the next 5 turns adds 13 commerce though and with the ability to build settlers out of FF I don't think it's catastrophic or anything. Just need to focus on growth and not over building military. My biggest difficulty is worker turns for cottages, or in fact actual tiles to put cottages on to work.

All this is idle speculation though really. The moment Adrien settles a city towards me I need to replan everything because there is no way I'm settling an eighth city for his gems. That's just insane.

Settling south of the plains cow is just saner and only requires a seventh settler, and it can be settled around T76.

I love those overview shots that you post. Do you have any trick that you use to make them really quickly?

Nothing automated. As the area I have uncovered is very narrow, I just scroll out to one click beneath the clouds, bare map, Crtl-I and Alt-F. Then scroll down using the arrow keys so I know that the pictures line up vertically on the same pixel in Paint.NET. I take every picture with the resource bubbles just missing the top of the screen so it's dead easy to line them up. Takes me about 30 secconds to take each screenshot and then about 1 minute to open up Paint.NET, get the right size canvas, paste and position each screenshot.

You'll get a PIC dump tomorrow but tbh I think most of my intake strength is in the map position. I would put money on having a top 2 position IMO. Just needs to be realised but with weak neighbours that's a more...agreeable point than in other games.
