Well nothing much to report. Exodus' borders will pop next turn, the same time as Speaker finishes the pasture.
Exodus
Genesis
Demographics
Novice
I have promoted Novice to Shock as that was the consensus. He is now at 1.4 health so should only take 3 turns to heal.
Other scouts have not reached their positions yet.

Looks good (though you can probably remove that bear warning ).
Should we build a road on the pigs while the Worker is already on the hill? Or does he have to move immediately to the forest? I'm guessing he should move, but just thought that I'd bring it up.
Anyway, looks like we're on track . . . Kicking science back to 100% next turn, right?

he needs to move asap. Roading up the resources isn't a priority right now. Only 2 more tiles need road to connect exodus and i'd prefer both copper and those done before pigs if we have spare turns (which currently we dont)

New Message from Mali, sounds interesting.
Quote: Dear Kyan,
Many thanks for your kind words.
Keef is not the kind of warrior to back down from a challenge (especially when he has no movement points left). He's already accessorized his bear pelt with a wolfskin belt, and is now lion hunting...
Oracle is an attractive gambit for us, but we're not bending our civ solely to that goal. We appreciate your offer of marble to speed it along, but we feel that the wonder is likely to fall before we're in a position to make the trade. Let's review the situation a bit further down the line, and see how things look.
How are you fixed for military resources? We have identified a viable horse city, but we seem to be without copper. This means we'll need to fit in IW at some point in the not too distant future. If you have copper but no horses, would you be interested in trading an axe for a chariot?
Best Wishes
Emperor Capac
Oracle idea was slightly far-fetched as we would have to bend our tech path to include masonry, but hey!
Military trade at some point would be good, though I'm not sure they are of equal strength.
I wonder if we could begin to broach the subject of our Alphabet trade in our next mail to Mali.
Just sent confirmation mail back as per usual.
I see a turn rolled late last night, anything of note happen Ky?

Absolutely nothing. Exodus' border popped as expected. Moved scouting units as per previous plan. Banshee moved back into Exodus to fortify there.
Research is back on. Pottery in 8 turns. Pottery is also a pre-req of writing meaning we get a healthy discount on it
Both our workers are due in 6 turns as it is tho we will complete a chop in Exodus in 4. I'm thinking another worker there may not be a bad idea at all after as it will go super fast with the chop.
This should put us at 4 workers, 5 warriors and well on our way to third settler by t50. That's not bad going at all for newbies

Would we have copper hooked up in 4? If so, maybe an axeman might be good to build with chop? We should look at a couple of them soon as we are neglecting hunting/archery.
What do you reckon about floating the tech trade I suggested with Mali?

I think that getting an Axeman or two now would be very wise. We don't want to get caught with our proverbial pants down by either Emperor-level Barbarians or another player. Plus, it'll jump our power rating so we might not look as vulnerable.
And I don't think that there's a problem with telling Mali that we're going to prioritize Alphabet, and discuss what a fair trade would be for that. We want to get Mysticism from them in the deal, too, so we can go straight to Polytheism so we can build the Parthenon ( from my own game) and tech Literature. Or possibly tech Mysticism on our own and trade for Poly. Dunno which would be best at the moment.

Well this was the proposed trade I suggested:
Alphabet (540 beakers)
FOR
Mysticism (90), Meditation (164), Priesthood ( 108 ), Hunting (72), Archery ( 108 ) = 542 beakers

I'm guessing that this trade will be made in stages? 3 stages, to be precise? Because we cannot get Mysticism, Meditation, and Priesthood all at the same time. It's a good deal, though, so hopefully they will agree to it. We just have to trust them to pony up Meditation and Priesthood when they get them.

Just do it all on one turn but in three goes. They gift Myst & Hunt 1st, then they gift us Med and Arch, then they trade us priest for alphabet - we just arrange to be online at same time and run it through.
