Alright, got it. Hopefully will even have time to play .
That is, my schedule is in the process of clearing up; I will get some turns in tonight, and I should have more time to play each successive day than the last, but feel free to declare me done once I've gotten my first few in.
And on that note:
Where were we? I believe the general situation was: - Finally had a good Fusion-era ship
- Had lots of Megafreighters built, but still lots to go, partially because of:
- Just got Arcologies, so our worlds are all growing and adding trade routes
- Decided to become more aggressive, so my goal should be to hold what we have, win what's already been launched, and launch at least one new fleet plus relaunch the used fleets
T210 - I decide to go ahead and pick up Fusion Warheads. We don't seem to be able to avoid fighting at our worlds, but we want to spend less time and ships doing that; better planetary missiles would help that along.
IT - fighting at Shononu, not yet decisive although we pull well ahead on kills.
T211 - Much building of Megafreighters. Although, I should probably start a warfleet somewhere in addition.
IT - Kill the Tarka picket at Ke'lolum. It's a 628 hazard planet, barely within our grabbable range - and I'm tempted to grab it. In any event, a gate is going up.
Kill all but the noncombatants at Shononu, going to have to finish that off with autoresolve next turn, I think. I probably should take this as my cue to start splitting off invasion fleets
And...that's going to have to be it for tonight. Hopefully I can achieve a bit more tomorrow.
If you want to look around, here's the save

Sounds like a good start. Go ahead and colonize Ke'Lolum, there's no reason not to. We can afford whatever Biomes are needed.

Sounds good to me, Mardoc. I'm not exactly in position to complain about spreading a turnset over several days, after all.
Fusion Warheads sounds good -- we are seeing fighting over our own planets and this will boost the effectiveness of planetary and satellite missiles. We should make sure we have sats built at our planets where battles are going to occur.
I have not had a chance to open the save -- what are the stats on Ke'lolum? Resources, size? If it will be a decent planet once developed, I think we should go ahead and grab it. Especially if it is in a sector where we will get more trade routes from it. But if it is size 1 and < 2000 resources, we can just mine it out.
Good luck! At least we are moving forward again. Hopefully Tyrmith is just busy, and we will see him posting again soon.

Size 6, 3000 resources, not sure on trade sectors. That's still a pretty good planet, I think, albeit more for size than resources.
99,000/turn cost, but of course if I start it off with enough Biomes, that'll be pretty much irrelevant.

A bit light on the resources, sadly. But decent size, and with arcologies even better. I agree it is well worth claiming, and we can drop a couple turns worth of biome production on it and get it going very quickly.

Wow, just finished reading. Pretty epic stuff so far. And I can't believe the freighter plan actually worked that well.
I finally got Argos Naval Yard, so I can fill a slot eventually. However, I won't be at a SotS computer w/ working internet until...Sunday. Yay moving.

Freighters, and then later mega-freighters, make a huge difference. I don't think you could play without them actually, as planetary income alone just is not enough to support research while still having a fleet. But it takes a LOT of investment -- we spammed regular freighters earlier, and have now been spamming mega-freighters steadily for multiple turnsets. The IO and cash put into them could have built multiple large fleets...but without the extra trade income they would be old, obsolete fleets.

Good luck with the move -- always a difficult and tiring process. We are down a player with Tyrmith's absence, so once you are in your new place I think we can find a slot for you in the rotation.
Mardoc, any update? Will you be able to play more turns soon, or should I grab the save?

I might be able to play a couple more tonight, and I can probably finish up my turnset on Wednesday. Well, maybe Thursday. I can't really guarantee anything at the moment, except that I think my schedule will continue to clear, and I ought at worst to have time by the weekend.
I would feel somewhat relieved if you could play now, actually. I have taken more than my share of the turns overall, and this week is a busy time for me. I suspect that you and Zed could have it circled back around to me by when I'm sure I'll have time to play, anyway, and that way we wouldn't have an uncomfortable pause.
I'm considering jumping into your Wesnoth game too, but I'm not sure that's a good idea when I'm having trouble even keeping up with this one and my PBEMs. I might find myself volunteering in a couple days if I get my backlog cleared out and you're still looking.

OK, I will grab the save and play some turns this evening. Unless you post otherwise before I start -- I will make certain to check before I begin playing.

The more the merrier. Finding time is the sticking point, as always -- I jumped into that one again since I was down to only this SotS SG after a couple other things wrapped up.
