Alright, who wrote the PBEM 35 summary?
Quote:In Progress. Sareln cat rushed. Playing out an inevitable Ottoman Victory. But the Chinese have a surprise incoming.

I don't know why I'm reporting this, but we did indeed revolt into Hindusim this turn. I can't believe we conquered half of SAT's empire and didn't even get any of their religions.
Hey, who messed with the smileys?

I thought it was obvious that you wrote it. The second part anyway. uberfish probably wrote the rushing part.

I didn't write it. The only part I wrote was 'In Progress.'

So SAT wants us to invade?
SAT's power is still slowly going up, and I expect them to attack us, if for no other reason than payback.
I promoted two of our 5 EXP Axes to Shock. Chernobyl's stuffed with 23 units, but 10 of them are Catapults and 3 are Chariots. At least they'll make collateral sponges on the defence.

Yes, we're backwards. 26 turns was the minimum, running off nothing but Scientists.
CFCJesterFool offered us 40 gold for free. Horray! No, I won't be insulted that he thinks we're backwards. We're making about 60 gpt at 0%. I guess he's our ally, between the Wines trade and gold gift?
Sugar got hooked up, allowing me to stop working Scientists at Yellow River and Touhoku to squeeze out some more growth. Stone got hooked up, so Chernobyl's Walls completed this turn. SAT's power is still going up... time to restart production of troops.
Katrina's Swordsman and Yellow River's Axeman completed EOT. I'll whip a Lighthouse at Touhoku and a Market at Aral Sea next turn.
CFCJesterFool got a Great Merchant. I expect someone to land Liberalism soon. This doesn't look good.
I wonder if I should have abandoned Arithmetic? It's really hard to defend right now being smack dab on SAT's borders. The issue would be that it would cut off Variola and Soyuz 11.

So, you probably missed when I asked earlier - what exactly was the point of enabling Chinese localization if everything is still in English?

For playing non-RB events. The main reason I don't have it on is so that the lext is legible.
Computer lagging, a lot. The main point of the turn is that I think SAT's going to attack soon. Their power's been rising steadily. I queued up units in a few cities for whipping at the earliest sign of trouble.
CFCJesterFool's now giving us Wines for free. I guess he's proping us up against Nicolae.

SAT declared war!
However, they didn't attack. As per tradition and custom, I threw a Chariot onto Death Hill:
I probably should have put at least one Archer in Chernobyl... Well, this is a problem. The good news is that if they attack next turn, their forces will be in range of our Catapults, since their HAs are currently 3 tiles away.
The reason I moved a bunch of Catapults 1SW of Chernobyl is in case SAT rushes for Variola. That would be their best course of action.
I wish I could abandon Chernobyl and get the first strike with our Catapults, but that would cut off Variola and Soyuz 11.
Domestically, War Weariness magically reappeared, still 3 unhappy faces. Man, do I wish I had a way to remove that. Luckily, Calendar and the Wines trade means our cities aren't paralyzed by unhappiness. The domestic plan is pretty simple - whip a bunch of units and wait for the tide to turn. I queued up Horseback Riding so that Krakatoa and Touhoku can build units that can reach the front in a reasonable timeframe.
In foreign news, Nicolae Sirianed CFCJesterFool's port city of Chaco Canyon:
(Where did the term originate from?) CFCJesterFool has 2 Archers in Snaketown. I don't think that the city will fall with that small force there.

The Sirian Doctrine (named after Sirian) refers to the general strategy of using ships to bombard down defenses of coastal cities before attacking amphibiously. Ship bombardment is a lot more powerful than siege weapons because they move a lot faster.

Yes, but in what game (Succession, Epic) was it coined?
CFCJesterFool conceded, time for us to?
