[TECH] Pitboss 34 IT and Tech Issues Thread

Now I think I should be declared the winner, since I got choked by Impis, didn't have any soft neighbours, and have the best naming scheme.

Actually, I'm also fine with Borsche being declared the winner, and I can be second. Toot

@pindicator: if you gift all your cities and gold to me, you can be third.

You had Nyles and Stardoors, both are not top players. Nyles was busy with dcodea early, so you could probably hit him from back. Stardoors is new to MP and had almost no military, I simply walked to his cap at like turn 110. You could do the same with 15 HA but 10-20 turns earlier or you could just counter my stack and still get everything, I almost had nothing to put against HA at that moment.

Also look at DTG, he climbed up by conquaring Elkad and expanding his borders to the half of globe from all sides. He has chances to win. You could also have chances by this moment playing on mine and Mr. Cairo's weaknesses.

Honestly for past 20 turns I was seeking for a single reason not to attack you. If you had at least 500 k more, that's just 30-40 knights I'd prefer to leave you alone. Also you should put all efforts to slow me down in Nyles lands. You could catch 20 wounded cavs or somth like that.

Your move with bulbing Astronomy was great but did you stop making pressure on me?

This game was not decided at T50. It was painstakingly made by Mr. Cairo. I agree that I got lucky, but Mr. Cairo's hard work and Nyles desperate attack with perfect timing did their job. You played your role too, because I was almost ready to throw Colossus into garbage, but you could do much more, collecting your chances to win crumb by crumb.

I did see the attacks but was limited in what I could do about them by the 2 turns for a revolution. Also my econ build requires caste system and I was trying to get tech parity with Mr. Cairo.

In the present I do not see how whipping my civ into a bloody pulp of outdated units increases my chances of winning. I can't conquer anything back with muskets and galleys, I need better units and that was not that far away when the war started. Had I not lost my main stack I would have traded a few cities for the time to get tech parity which I belive is definately worthwhile when you have 30+ cities.

It seems to me that I was the only player interested in continuing this game, and over the last day or so I've lost that interest. So to make things easier on everyone I'm going to concede to OT4E here.

I'm pretty sure that he would win even if we did play on, I was mainly interested in seeing what playing a modern-era MP game would be like (and I still think I had a not-impossible chance myself), but I don't want to drag a bunch of people unhappily with me.

I'm having fun, for what it's worth. I gave up winning on T47...

The map is flawed: there are too few chances for players to interact, there's no way the starts were fair, early BW/Chariots were THE right early play (punishing alternative and creative moves), Impis should have been banned, Marble and Stone should have been readily available, newbie players should not build the GLH in a border city neighbouring the most powerful civ in the game who's just killed his first victim...

...but whatever. smile it's a causal game with nice land so I'll just do what I can do in the time I can allocate and enjoy myself.

Kudos on the attitude DTG! That was mine until the turn pace complacency got to me. Good luck keeping it up when the 2 big dogs come barking

Any opinions on what level of spoiled are acceptable (this question mainly for OT4E as it effects you the most)?

I dont care how spoiled the sub is. The one who has seen my thread wont agree to sub anyway:D joke.
