In the interests of keeping the paint on the wall behind my monitor unblistered, I've done a bit of micro planning for you
I'm always happy to take micro advice. Especially when it comes with the reasoning explained, so I can do it right next time. I know that I'm stronger on the macro level than the micro level; it'd be nice to gain the ability to execute the plans I can dream up .
I'm not 100% sure I agree that cottages at Poopdeck are a waste, there's no way we can work anything near all our pop as specialists. But...I can see the point that they're less urgent than mines, at least, and therefore should have waited. It's probably irrational of me to want to improve flatland first because I don't lose worker turns moving onto the hills, but that was my thinking.
Plus, of course, cottages eventually turn into hammer-providers, once we can pick up Taxation for Republic. Not a near term question, though.
Finally, a picture of something that might matter later on:
Yep, we can Drown our warriors now. Don't particularly have a reason to - but if a reason shows up on our border, we can react.

It might be worth Drowning our two most experienced Warriors if we can spare the gold and spare them from the front lines for a few turns. Drowns are much more effective barb killers than warriors.

Let's wait until after Trade comes in. But yes, that seems a decent idea. Then they can go barb hunting, and get to level 6, and we can have a Titan.

I can has Titan pls? :hat:
It'll be a very fast build in Mainmast if we can unlock it.
FotT + Command Post + Conquest + Charismatic = level 4 units from our hammer cities. Me likey very much. :hat:

We'll have: 1 Sage slot (EC) + 1 Sage slot (library) + 1 Sage/ +1 Priest slot (OO temple) + 1 Sage/ +2 Priest slots (OO Shrine) + 1 Priest slot (Pagan Temple)
At a minimum. That's 8 Specialist slots. We'll need +16 food surplus to work them all. And our current food surplus will evaporate once the farms in Mainmast's BFC get converted to cottages and we swap to Foreign Trade.
I'm 100% sure that the cottages are a waste. Not only because we could have made better use out of those worker turns, but also because we'll need to farm over them later on once we have Construction and Sanitation.
Poopdeck will make a solid GP farm. But it needs food in order to do so.
(8 Specs + NE + Shrine = 27 base gpp + 100% for the NE = a whopping 54 GPP/turn. I can has multiple GAs pls )*
Cottages don't provide food.
* Or a second Academy in Mizzenmast.....or a couple of levels of the Altar....or a second shrine....or a bulb or two
we can find a use for any GP we generate.

Look, Thoth, no Sages!
One change from the screenshot - I gave the cottage back to Poopdeck and took the northern cottage to work instead.
Otherwise, I continued on your recommended worker plan. It's close to expiring - any thoughts for what should be up next (and why?)
Also...not much point in going to Drama, for us:

We've got our culture from the overlords, and it looks like we'll have to hand-research Sanitation whatever we do.

Looks solid.
Main thing is getting as many good tiles worked as possible ASAP.

I'll get back to you on that one....

No biggie, we can tech Sanitation after Construction on the cheap. It's not like we need the culture.

I had a quick look at the t81 save:
If we do some tile juggling in Mizzenmast (grabbing all three mines, swapping pigs and farms to coast tiles) we can still grow in 1t while producing extra commerce and building the Lighthouse in 3t.
We'll want to work the newly built Mine in Poopdeck and there is an unworked cottage to the north of Bilge (currently in Poopdeck's BFC) that Bilge could be working.
I think we'll have enough overflow beakers from HBR to do Trade in 2 turns.

I'm sorry to report this, but I played this morning, and I pretty much just hit enter. Was in a rush to get it moving before work. I'll fix these things you recommend as soon as I see the save again.

Yeah, I think it's time to give up on 'just one quick turn before I run out the door'. It doesn't usually help the overall turn pace anyway, Ilios and my schedules are too different.
