*sigh*
We've not commented on our starting lands, other than the capital. We've commented on one particular stretch of land. That is all. I said that we hope we find a resource soon, or something would be true, with the caveat that we have not yet uncovered every tile.

Don't sigh at me, it's clearly obvious from the tone of your posts that you're moaning about your start before you've seen it. If you do find yourself to have a bad start then moan away of course, I'd do the same.

BTW, wikipedia seems to be a good source of AA, BB etc names.

Your plan sounds good to me as outlined; with Q3 slotted in after Q2, you should have more than enough time to explore Alaskan Arctic's surroundings for good second city sites before actually completing your second settler, and it sounds like there'll be plenty for the worker to do at Ace Archetype before the founding of Bonafide Bounty, given that your plans relegate farms to the distant future just because of so many higher worker priorities!

Krill Wrote:We've currently exploring up the NE with Q1, and so far uncovered [u]zero[/i] food resources. I hope we find some soon, because otherwise that area is just a complete wasteland; we also found the northern edge of the map.
While I'm not at Imhoteps' level of desparation yet, I do hope Sullla didn't leave this map with really sparse food resources. Realistically sparse food does favour us though, but it's somewhat boring when every city site is decided by the location of a single food resource...which has happened before.
That's a moan? Damn, you have must have had some brilliant girl friends sooooo
I'll restate my position. I hope Sullla didn't make/keep the map with sparse resources. There may be food resources around the capital aplenty, and we won't know about it for 20 turns so we aren't commenting on the level of resources in this game. I am only communicating hopes and possible realities, and their consequences. Whether I moan or not in the future will be uncovered later...

Sorry, you just sounded a bit prematurely irritated to us.

The east ended, now we are heading south in the knowledge that either we'll meet someone down there, or we won't. If we won't we're going to end up doing a road to no where project through the wastelands and settle cities for the crabs, and one for the whales/fish/furs before someone can turn up with settlers in galleys.
Side note: our domestic plan got screwed up by a forest growth, so now we're looking at camping the ele first to work at size 2 and getting a farm at size 3. Might have to make slavery for that to work out though...but there is nothing else to do until we get BW.

The east is a little boring...but here is our world map. Obviously less detailed than everyone elses, but "Dems de brakes". We now have 9 forests we are looking at chopping before t50 now...we're losing a fair chunk of commerce, but we're mining the lone hill (and praying that doesn't get a forest!) before going over to the ele to camp it.
I'm not putting the picture in image tags because it's really wide.

update t28: Got Q2 a few turns ago, it's looking to explore south of AA and keep on heading that way. Q1 killed a lion with no loss of health, now 2/5 XP, unpromoted and heading along way SW.
Looking at the map it appears we are far in the NE of the map, because we can see the join between the two sides of the map. I'm thinking we can circumnavigate without boats (if we get lucky), but I don't think boats are going to be all that important on this map...

That's a little unlucky with Q2; runnign into 2 bears and a wolf. We have odds on either of them seperately, but together...well, we'll see in a few hours...
