hello worthless military city state

My future xp farm

Florence a cultured city state

still pretty worthless but in a position where I can't realy farm them

So I have confirmed a citystate is there and a ruin also. But that barb camp ate my scout.

So I now have to send a warrior to get some revenge.

Right now I am trying to grow one more size before I pound out a few settlers and workers.
I don't need more military I think as I am now #1 in military after building two warriors. rolleye

Yeah I feal kinda sad that I went from last to first with only two warriors.

Anyway.

nice gold built up so far. I like the idea of keeping enough in reserve to buy an emergency unit if you need it. (although this might hurt the overall economy...)

Also - PMs are broken - I got a notification, but the database is hosed, so I can't read what you sent. - ahh I am getting them via email. I will replay and resend the save - maybe it will work.

I did play the turn again and GMR auto-detected and I submitted it again.

In case GMR doesn't update (or the save is still broken), you can get the save here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19053792/Washing...0.Civ5Save

I guess if you rename exactly as GMR uses ('Play this one' or whatever), when you save, GMR will auto-detect and ask you to submit.

hey f&i - our save in our side game is hosed with the turn order problem.

awww. i was happy with the damage i did too.

ALso interesting - i completed the double turn to see what would happen and Civ5 went into a death spiral (infinite wait cursor). Was hoping maybe it would be your turn with your units.

Saving didnt trigger GMR to update, but I did save it once after my original turn.

Since PMs are broken, I posted here, I can edit it out of this thread since its off-topic. I'll try the tech thread - maybe people have seen this before.

Those dots our the current ideas Waterbat and I had for city locations. I will post about which ones I want and priotity tomorrow after I get some sleep and look over everything again

Some changes you might note are the new aztec settle ment. We talked and seemed to agree 5 warriors for that city was not worth the effort lol

Spoiler is just a map repost

First the trade off and what each city give and loses

Red and Black

Red:
1 marble
1 oasis
5 hill with no rivers
2 grassland
1 hill with river

Also has a pretty good chance for old faithful which is +2 science and +3 happy
also gains a observatory (a building with no maintenance)

Black:
1 marble
1 sheep
1 oasis
3 grassland
6 hills no river
1 hill with river

Between the two I like red better.
Its a solid defensive poistion blocking the pass and hidden by the hills

Black on the other hand is a better city overall. Against AI I would chose that city every time.

Green in lower right
4 plains
1 fur
1 wheat
1 stone
alot of tundra

Its not a very good city but A city will likely go down around there somwhere.
Just too many rivers for us to ignore completely.

Purple
2 hills
1 barringer crater or whatever
1 deer
1 whale
1 fish
1 forrest
3 sea
3 tundra
2 ice

Also pretty bad land resources but it gives me boats and a way to counter sea bore invastions from ENGLAND yikes

Ornage Blue and Other Green

Orange
2 horses
1 silves
1 cattle
1 wheat
2 hills with river
1 forrest
4 plains
1 grass land

Blue
1 cattle
2 horse
1 wheat
1 elephant
1 silver
1 hill
1 forrest
5 plains
1 grassland

Other Green
1 wheat
1 elephant
2 horses
1 stone
2 tundra
4 forrests
3 plains
1 hill
1 grassland

I prefer blue over Orange and green

blue has quick access to alot of resources. It is also the best defensive position as it would be on a hill behind a river. So they need to handle a stronger defense attacking across the river or my forces realy have been defeated.

I do realize the lose a decent city site between blue and the cap is a major lose compared to orange. alright

Currect settling order

BLUE:
PURPLE:
RED:
GREEN:

other fillers go here in build order.

rant why is his land so god damm fetile. I am the bloody bread basket nation. I should have so much more food then those other guys. rant

Also that scout is about to get fucked he has the same odds against that warior as my spear did against the barb warrior below this word.

Odds mean nothing apearently. both sides were suposed to live with 4 hp each. rolleye

Come on didn't you know odds were suposed to be odds. alright

Yep I did recall - I was just wondering if anything you saw on the map or in aztec land had changed the status of those selections...

wow, his lands are fertile indeed!

agree with the settling plan - I think that blue city's extra defense is going to come into play -- if nothing more than a deterrent.

Its a pity barb camps don't become cites upon capture.
