Leap rhymes with sheep, at least.
It's almost like Commodore wanted us to found a production monster 1W of my chosen location. The plains hill plant was to good to pass up, though. We should still be able to use those hills for Imp goodness, by settling a city 3W of Leap, for example.
I'm going to grab AH now and find out where the horses are. If we're settling for seafood next Mining-BW first would be slightly better so we could chop a work boat, I suspect our next city will be inland though, so it's better to hook up the cows first and we can share out one of the resources to city #2. (That works for the seafood city too, slowbuilding a work boat while working the cows, but it's a slightly slower start for that city than chopping a work boat.)
Tune in next time to find out where the scout went.
I have to run.

Yeah I can sub for you, that's not a problem. I don't think I'm going to intimidate anyone though.

The scout went north:
Ideally we'll want to scout around the capital for our next city locations, but it looks like 3N of the capital will be good enough, so I think our scout will pursue circumnavigation.

Going for circumnav sounds good to me. Are you sure there's enough water though?

Yeah, we're well above the threshold. I tested empirically as well in the sandbox - it has the same amount of water as the game, and revealing the whole map and ending turn gives us the circumnavigation bonus.

Turns are flying by today.
Of course, everybody's just moving their scout and clicking end turn.
Dazed has gotten a tech which I assume is Hunting. From GNP it appears I'm the only one who started with teching Animal Husbandry.

Boldly is my northern neighbour.
The map seems to be repeated perfectly in the north-south direction from what I can see so far.
Circumnavigation due on t15. Tentative tech plan is AH->The Wheel->Mining->Agriculture.

So what's the micro plan, what gets improved in what order? None of that unreadable spreadsheet crap of course.

I started a settler after the worker, the worker is camping the 3/1 deer while the city is working the 1/3 deer. Tech the wheel. When the deer camp completes, work it and grow to size 2 on a warrior build while the worker camps the other deer. At size 2, switch back to settler and complete it working both deers. Complete the warrior and then a 3t worker after the settler. Settler settles 3N of city, or 3S of city which also claims horses. Worker improves the cows after the second deer, part-roading 1S of the city on his way.
The map is happy constrained, so we're going horizontal but we can't crash our economy either. I'm considering getting horses early and delaying mining-bw, getting wheel-agri-pottery instead. Pottery mainly for cottages and not granaries. We don't have the happy for whips anyway. Long term tech writing-maths-currency for wealth builds and trade routes, then construction for our UB and for catapults. Religion and Monarchy is just a giant tech detour for us.
Quite possibly settle a city on the gems.
Mids are even better with our low happy cap, no stone in sight though. Maybe capture the mids from Boldly...

Well the last time you didn't go for religion was the last time you were CRE, so yeah.
Going for Construction for happy can definitely make sense. Did we get third ring borders yet?
