Sorry, the France and Byz example was thinking "CK II" distances - but if the importance of distance was affected by tech level, it might work.

So the last preorder bonus was announced today: A free copy of CK2 as well as an official converter to port your finished CK2 games over to EU4! I never really could get into CK2, but this would probably be the way to get me into it, trying to create an epic empire and then port it over to EU4 and find some way to destroy it. Looks to be cool.

Also, I do already have CK2 at the moment, so I will have a free copy that I have no use for. If anyone would be interested in it PM me and when I get the copy (i think August 13th) I'll gift it over to you.

EDIT: claimed already lol

Just preorder EU4, then you'll have CK2 and the new EU game so you can finally play MP with the most current version. cool

Uh, are you saying the converter isn't available for everyone to use?

I think what I'm gathering is it's included free with preorders and will be available at a small price as a kind of DLC to everyone else.

Come on, really??

I doubt it, its always been free to connect the various games in the past.

Here's a link to a Development Diary they released about it today.

So it is available to anyone on launch day, but it will cost $10 or equivalent. Though it looks to have had a decent bit of extra development to try and carry over as much CK2 stuff as possible and be dynamic with that, so I can understand selling it for cost. I think $5 would still be better but oh well.

I like how they charge the same amount in Euros despite being a European company and not having the usual VAT excuse. lol

Sounds pretty impressive but it's still a augmenting utility at the end of the day... and I'm rather skeptical that it'll work properly. lol
