New FFH2 PBEM?

Ellmist,

I agree with you about not having Barbarian World. And since I started this thread, and there doesn't seem to be general consensus about it, I suspect people will end up deciding that way...

I'd like to see more players as well- feel free to recruit a few friends in! Ideally, I'd like to see a 4-5 player game.

Any lurkers that want to join in? Mardoc perhaps?

Settings so far:

Basic FFH2 (zany, unbalanced, and !FUN!)
Quick speed
*Heavily* re-balanced Erebus map (mapmaker should feel free to take *extensive* liberties with adding bonuses, lairs, etc.)
Blessings of Amatheon
Living World
Flavor Start
Goody Huts/ Lairs present (adds more randomness- I want a less predictable game) and abundant
Orthus ON
Acheron ON (mapmaker should place a single barb city for Acheron)
Limited Diplo- full messaging but no NAP's, Alliances, or Vassalage (basically, you can ask/offer resources, and I'm inclined to allow TT if not abused)

Let me know what you guys think. I probably missed a few things, and there are definitely open to discussion.

Regards,
Northstar

I appreciate the invite, but I don't have time for another game at the moment.

I think the regulars here are unavailable / uninterested. You'd probably have to look to civ fanatics for recruiting if you want more than 3 people.

Is this still in the works? I am very interested.

Yes potentially. North wants at least 4 people. with you that makes 3.

However, we have a tournament we're setting up and have an open slot. Post there if interested

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I am quite new to the multiplayer setting, having only played with a couple of friends before and I have never liked duel games. I will continue to follow developments here, and see if I can convince someone to join in (unlikely).

With you we have 4 (if Ellmist is still in), and that's enough for a decent multiplayer game. I'd strongly prefer playing with original FFH2, but I can be convinced to use EiTB instead if that's what it takes to get the game going...

Take a look at the settings I suggested above, because some of them are a little unusual (like wanting to play an Erebus-based map: these maps are not normally super-balanced: but I enjoy seeing players try to adapt to their environments and overcome initial disadvantages...) See if there are any changes you want to suggest, and keep in mind that we're trying to reach a consensue among 4 players...

I hope to hear from you again soon and have you in the game!

Great, though it would be better with 1 or 2 more players. Will there be any AI? As far as playing EiTB vs FFH2, as I mentioned, I'm new to multiplayer so I have actually never played EiTB. I'm all for FFH2. I have followed FFH2 since it came out and played its subsequent sequels up to Ashes of Erebus which I play now (more content, still being updated; I'd highly recommend it).

As for maps, I find World of Erebus to be preferable to Erebus Continent, and I agree with the settings mentioned (even though I always hate hate hate Acheron plopping down nearby.

AI = Free Cities for whoever is nearby. Best to avoid adding AI In a game with humans.

There is the *minor* issue of the Mercurians/Infernals, unless we pull that trick of handing off the map to have additional human players edited in that was described earlier... (if so, could we possibly get some people lined up for potential Mercurians/Infernals?)
