I logged in to look around and offer the "Peace for Zombie" deal. The score increase is from Currency which we got through the Oracle ... I didn't move any units or do anything else except look around.
Gotta run, so i'll just dump pictures.
Received this from Azza Azza didn't take the bait. Offered peace for all his gold and gpt. Let's see if he offers something reasonable in return. I started pillaging around his city. Next turn the second gold mine and the pigs go. Turn after the cottage/hamlet get burned to the ground. If he counters with all his gold I'll accept. If he refuses to be reasonable i'll just pillage and draw my forces off to the southeast and march them back to the new city that I'm founding. Overview shot T90 ... Two settlers moving into position on the northwest and southwest corners of the salt lake. Both can found in 3 turns. We're growing 4 pop points when the turn rolls ... 5 turns to CoL/Confucianism.
I'll have pigs improved by the time I found the city in the north, so I'll put both chops into the granary ... I'll then be able to whip a WB for the clams. In the south my first chop will build a WB, and the second and a whip will finish the Granary (unless you think it'd be better to do something else at either place).
Thanks Cornflakes.

How does this happen?
What?! Jowy gets 24-pt score increase and Commodore gets 12-pt score increase (both mid-turn and at the exact same time stamp)!!! Only possible answer is a tech trade. Either Commodore or Jowy must have Alphabet. Alphabet should come at some point, because whoever has a monopoly on Alphabet now will end up trading techs around. No-Brokering helps, but it's still powerful.
CoL in 4. Commodore offered a tech trade (he must have traded to get Alphabet from Jowy because he can't trade it with us because of no brokering).
I accepted. I also offered Open Borders to AT. I don't think that the two cities will cost us much from the beginning because we're paying upkeep and the cities will increase our free-support threshold. What are your thoughts on tech path after CoL? I'm thinking IW > Calendar. That'll open up plantations to us and give us Sugar and Dyes (with another city). Since we have Sugar already connected through Grand Slam it might actually be better to go Calendar > IW instead an get the happy sooner. I'm open to other tech suggestions. Monotheism afterwards for OrgRel so we can spread the +happy and +25% building/wonder production. Another thing to consider: Wonders ... We have 120 base hammers of chops currently available at Mars, +60-90 base-hammers from whipping overflow if we play it right. There are 3 that come to mind, but maybe you have one that would benefit us more. – Hanging Gardens (NOTE: Commodore has Stone & Maths and has traded Masonry with us ... I'm expecting to see HG fall soon to —him) – MoM (EXPENSIVE without marble ) – Great Lighthouse
Azza refused the peace-for-gold offer and didn't counter. I didn't make an offer this turn. After pillaging next turn I think I'll offer strait peace. We're making enough off the pillage-gold each turn to support our army (about 10gpt) but that runs out after next turn so it'll be time to head home. On second though I think I'll wait one more turn to offer peace so that I can get sight of his capital.
Azza has had enough damage inflicted with 3 city razes and all improvements pillaged at a 4th city to set him out of contention in the final running. It'll be a while before we can come back and finish him off though. Right now he's making 5gpt at what I assume is 0% research. The Rival Worst stats are abysmal ... Pop stat fit's with Azza having a size 5 capital, size 4 Zombie, and size 1 [... newest city] Our own demographics are looking nice and healthy GNP is a tad inflated because of 40% prereq bonus on CoL. That Currency Oracle grab was a good play and I can't believe the Oracle stuck around that long. Barb warriors keep appearing in the east and we keep farming xp this will be #'s 8 and 9. Then one more just one more to unlock Heroic Epic. I'd like to get the tech for that and build it sooner rather than later. Marble would really be nice! Once I get peace with Azza I'll send 2 impi exploring in a northerly direction and one southeasterly in AT's direction.
Something we need to keep in mind: Commodore could do the same 1-move from the fog on Doughnut, which would be a serious blow. I'm building an Impi there now, which will be followed by an axe ASAP. (EDIT: border pop from the library is coming in 5-turns, which will eliminate the possibility of getting 1-moved out of the fog.)
Has tglh not fallen???
If so that's a definite WANT from me. I think I suggested IW->Calender earlier, () but I agree that calender first is probably best. (Unless we have aspirations on MoM, which I agree is really expensive, we might consider an earlier IW depending on where our next cities are going.) How long will it take us to pick them up, and do we want to go monarchy/alphabet first. Considering BC have Alpha now, we should try to work out what techs they have. Can you post/mail the sim? Did azza take peace?
