SoL would have not much effect for us.
1) We're switching out of Rep.
2) GPP are nearly worthless to us now. We've already popped 10. Also, every city but one will never ever produce a GP.
Therefore unless it stays unclaimed for quite a while longer it's not worth the cost to us. Much better to chase after other things like oil-based ships and Kremlin and Cristo Redentor and Machine Guns.

You have a whole lot of cities, so I figured it'd be pretty good. It's obviously not as good as Cristo Redentor, so I'd definitely go for that first if you think there's competition for it.

Part of it is I'd be happy for someone else to build SoL. It means they weren't doing anything scarier. And hey, maybe we'd capture it.
But also, while 2h/3c per city times multipliers is pretty nice when you have 21 cities, it'll still take about 20t (of working all engineers) to pay off the hammer cost and 20t more (of working scientists/merchants) to pay off the tech cost. Even universities pay off faster than that (maybe 30t, depends on your favorite hammer/beaker exchange rate) and they are damned expensive buildings. Basically if we wanted Democracy regardless, it would be good, but since we don't need it for Universal Suffrage (nor, really, do we need Emancipation) it's a bad tech.
As for Cristo Redentor I will simply feel a lot safer once we have it. It will mean being able to draft whenever we want but not having to stay in Nationhood! Very important ability to have once we're out of golden ages.

Played another turn! (116)
There's really not much to say these turns. I decided we've built a ton of infrastructure and it's time we built some more military again, so started a drydock, two barracks and a few cannons. (Cannons being the land unit we can build that will stay useful the longest.)
The only micro is really making sure all cities have good tiles to work, so passing some around when a city grows and/or using workers to add new improved tiles.
I'm trying to get about half our knights back to our homeland for later defense.
I queued up a privateer in Lorien for after the drydock, I figure having one of them may well be useful (at least it has sentry for free if nothing else).
Rather than give demos again (we are first in everything but power this turn!), here is a giant picture of our entire empire just before ending turn:
Please excuse the poor splicing.

Played T117.
It was mostly maintenance.
A couple of cities could do 1-pop whips on buildings, so I did them.
Knights got ferried or put on ferries to go back to the mainland.
No new builds were started.
Workers worked on workshops.
I changed research to scientific method from Liberalism. Turning it all the way up didn't finish it in one turn, so I did that. IIRC, next turn, we're turning back down for gold to wait for a GP to spawn.

Cool.
Next turn plan is 100% research on Liberalism. Then if we get our correct GP (75%) we are ready to blow through SciMeth/Communism.
Also, important news: I talked with Yuris just now.
1) He has declared war on GES!
2) He said he got scientist but transporting it on galley as we agreed might be trouble because it's a war zone now, and thus risky. So I suggested we lend him a galleon for 1t so he can ferry it to us fast and safely
Therefore, our galleon in the center sea (not sure exactly where it is now) needs to move towards Best FM or Rock FM or Radio Dacha. And we'll have to tell him where it's going so the scientist can meet it there. OK?

At our 2T/day rate that's currently happening, I have a feeling you'll be getting the next save. That one happened to come in at 6am, so I decided to play it before work instead of sitting on it.

I have to admit I was expecting someone else to get the save this evening, after the way things had been going. :neenernee
Anyway, I played the turn.
Last turn, I had moved the galleon in entirely the wrong direction, so we're still going to need to coordinate with Yuris, but I can't get it to his territory for another turn. Right now, it's more or less equidistant from the three cities you mentioned.
I unilaterally decided to 2-pop whip the library on our island: It was going to take 50+ turns as it was and we have the food surplus to regrow quickly.
Several builds completed. I wasn't entirely sure what to do with them, so I'll admit that most of them just got observatories, since they all already had libraries. This is what I get for playing when I want to go to sleep.
End of turn, Liberalism came in. Also, we got a Great Person: Great Merchant (Adam Smith). Excellent; it's not a scientist or a spy. It looks like Communism and golden age is a go. Next tech should be Scientific Method, of course. Oh... Yuris got a GP this turn, too, but I forgot to note what it was.
