So if it’s a thing we can reasonably cross out people and places which is a nice cross off.

Maybe one question from each person first and then each person up to 3 or something.

I suggest we start with simple, unambiguous questions.

i.e. Is it a noun?

Followed by, depending on the answer:
Is it a proper noun? OR
Is it an adjective?

Seems to me that all the examples in the first post, even those with multiple words, fall into those categories, rather than being figures of speech.

A good question to start and it was fruitful directly.
However, I do not grasp your 2nd part (not native English speaker here so take it with a grain of salt from my side).
What do you mean by proper noun?

And another question for you guys here, I checked online and the yes to this answer basically excludes persons, places (animals/living beings/viruses?)
Would the word Google be a thing for you?

I am currently considering how to best narrow down another step from here, I was thinking maybe along the line of:
- Is the magic word thing touchable (like in I can touch it) ? -> this lets us exclude concepts, internetstuff, fantasy but might by a little iffy around Waves or Wind?
- is the magic word material (so something consisting of Atoms (or smaller subparts of them)? -> a different way to exclude concepts, software, fantasy but covers Wind better

Btw, can we agree on a "no editing of post rule here" as in the werewolf game?

Thanks, that seems incredibly wise. I will add that rule to the initial post.

I think whether google is a thing or not depends on El Grillo’s interpretation. Hell he could just lie if he is a wolf. I don’t think we can just this is always that. In this way it’s still a. Social game. It’s not just 20 questions it’s Werewords!

I would classify google as a thing yes.

Just to clarify, the questions was mostly about how you guys would see it.
For me Google is a name (and I would not have a person in my definition) but that description did not come up under my search for noun (only person, place, thing)

What do you think about my suggested question?
Is the idea sound to try to narrow down thing between "material" and "immaterial" things next?
How would you phrase it if we follow this question direction? (I am quite sure my above phrasing is not very precise)

I can ask the question when I feel the idea and the phrasing is sound

Its really hard for me to play this game and not ask "is it bigger than a breadbox?" Are breadboxes even a thing?

I'm not sure what you mean Kaiser? You mean is it a physical thing or more of a concept? If so, that seems like a reasonable question.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

I think so too

That is what I mean and the way you phrased it is better than my orignal description.

I just add something to try to get it more precise as a "physical thing" for me could also be understood like sports for example.

Does the Magic Word describe a physical thing consisting of matter?
