Just now getting back to this, but what about settling for copper next instead of one later? Besides us needing copper, it starts a clock on flipping that island barb city in ~50 turns. Plus, even before stealing the barb fish, that city can get to 15 hammers per turn by working the copper mine and two grassland mines, plus cow and a couple riverside cottages. Once it steals the fish, it gets to something like 24 hammers per turn while working 3 great cottages (one underwater!) at size ten. That seems really strong to me. Admittedly, I don't know the northern dot's full bfc.
I get that luxuries are rare on this map. I'm not convinced that Sailing for one gold is worth the cost. One luxury isn't going to solve happiness. Rather whip away the discontent into settlers or horse archers while waiting for Monarchy. Speaking of which, I'm not sure why you're prioritizing priesthood? I don't know what each city pays in maintenance right now, but it can't be that much. I feel like Ziggurauts too early is a trap that's easy to fall into. Especially with that barb island city, Currency is likely going to be way more effective (+2gpt for 0 hammers rather than +3gpt? for 90.) On the other hand, if we're already going for Priesthood, I think we should get Monarchy, since that's one of the rewards of early priesthood.
Tldr: No Sailing. Have to choose Currency vs Monarchy. The answer to that question determines when we get Priesthood. My two cents.
There is no way to peace. Peace is the way.

Im fine swapping to copper being next. I can concede sailing =/= 1Gold. (even though i think it would pay for itself fairly quickly) SO, ill just have that city build a worker then. That sound fine?
Prioritizing priesthood mostly for the following reasons: We are ahead on the snowball. By alot. There is a religion on the way we could grab. There is our UB if we have nothing else but units to build in cities, it at least gives them something to build. PLUS can try and nab the oracle and get something nice out of it. Judging based on Thrawn's situation, and the general -lower than me- food/cities... I have to assume others are having barb trouble and might not be able to focus as much on something like that. PLUS as you pointed out, we can always grab monarchy as well.

Thoughts on what is more important? 50t from potentially (barbs likely to build monument i bet) flipping the barb city, or work coastal cottage?

Enjoyed the reports, and especially the wide angled full empire view. Really helped me understand your path so far. Looks like things are going well.

I can think of a few!
1) What are your plans - if any - for the hut?
2) How annoying are the nearby barbarian alerts every single turn for the locked-in-place barbs?
3) Do you have a general direction you really want to prioritize settling towards and/or claim, or are you sort of just taking whatever spot fits best next?

1. the hut will be popped by my CRE borders... eventually.
2. Very. I hate notifications.
3. Going to be pushing north after the copper spot/another near capital spot i think. Thats the direction Thrawn came from, so i figure its best to chomp that land up before Dreylin scoops more of it up. Other direction to expand quickly into is the little bridge area to the south connecting us and Gavagai. Also i could be talked into rushing HA's into his face. Maybe send him a pm "you settled east of X meridian, you shall perish!" (pb48 meme pm from him)

Annnnd logged in and we flipped the city. AND due to there being an archer in the city, our CHARIOT that the city gained from liberation.. Almost lost. That would have been funny.
My bid to have Buddhism spawn in our newest far-east city to try and flip THAT barb city... failed. Our city that flipped the barb city? THAT city is now the buddhist holy city. So thats all fun :D

Had no idea you could get a Chariot from a flipped city. Honestly thought it was like Warrior -> Archer -> Longbow -> etc based on your current tech level.

surprised me as well. Guess not having copper hooked up, nor archery does that.
