It's no problem to me that Kuro is back and wants to play. I volunteered to fill in because I have the time and they seemed to need someone. However, I predict that down the road Kuro will have more absences (explained and unexplained) that may lead them to wish they'd removed him.

Dazed, now that you've thrown your hat in the ring, maybe best to be a 'recycled virgin' and not spoil yourself further. Catwalk Wrote:After a lot of arm wrestling with Sian, we have arrived at an agreement: Catwalk, you gave up too much there. Even nerfing one of the benefits of early MC: dibs on colossus. I'm not sure if anyone (vet or green) has figured out just how important the islands will be. If Sian gets GLH and Colossus, that'll be powerful! Ceiliazul Wrote:Catwalk, you gave up too much there. If Sian gets GLH and Colossus, that'll be powerful! Yeah, unless someone else also figures out the value of those other continents. Then, they have incentive to research Astronomy while Sian, who will be spamming coast cities all over the place, has a disincentive. More and more, I think that on non-Pangaea or Lakes maps the Colossus has one purpose:

Catwalk is just trying to be nice, but Kuro needs to be kicked out the Greens game. He's a nice guy, but this isn't nearly the first time he has apologized for an incredibly long delay, blamed it on factors outside of his control, pledged to do better, and then promptly reneged on his promise. Some people just cannot be relied upon to play their turns regularly, and he's one of the worst.
NobleGases 2nd city choice seems very weak. There is superior spot SW having e.g. corn, copper and horses. Despite of the wonder hogging plan that city should have been 2nd one.

Aaaaand them not settling it seems to be making Lewwyn astonishingly stupid. Just because you *can* choke someone (though he seems to be forgetting bowmen) doesn't mean you *should* choke them. As metagame decisions go, the #3 or 4 seed choking the #4 or 3 seed seems rather moronic.

Really though, the Cats has suffered a disaster of dotmapping. Hopefully they discover the joys of scouting, and fast! Magellans' isn't worth accepting crappy cities and stranded seafood. I certainly wouldn't see him at that position considering skills. Serdoa Wrote:Well, maybe he doesn't see himself as #3 or 4? I certainly wouldn't see him at that position considering skills. Eh, that's true, he overrates his big-picture skills, but in his own words he thinks Noble/Gas are his least threatening threat. Man did they get screwed, too: Gaspar Wrote:My guess is they'll take MC, whip a forge on T40, run an engineer specialist and rush mids on T52. I believe T52 was our original finish date for mids, so we'd have won on turn order. Ouch. So really the question is whether or not Seven was right about Mackoti's GLH timing...which he usually is. It's a pity in terms of game balance, I'd be interested to see things if the three wonder-teams had split them GLH-Mack, Pyramids-Nopar, and Colossus-N7.
